I’m on shuttle duty today instead of doing a 12 mile 2k foot climb I guess

Praying a shop 20 miles from me has an orbea hanger and they’ve got an xt derailer so might just go to that. Cassette is fine so I don’t wanna do the whole drivetrain really

I'm struggling to find on this bike as well what the max insertion is for a dropper. I'm really wanting to go to a 200 but I'm thinking 180 may even be pushing it

    Hope it's an Orbea shop.
I always get a spare hanger for every bike. Been stranded a couple of times with multiile walks.

We ordered one. The derailer itself also got bent when it got stuck in the spokes. It was all toast. I also dont know If I could fix a derailer hanger on the trail with my knowlege

    Good time to learn.
I've mostly learned repair from breaking stuff.

As long as things aren't too mangled it's pretty simple. Worth learning.

I have an extra hanger for every bike I own and keep it in the saddle bag of each bike.

The Evil sale is back on again, this time through the 4th. It looks like all XO bikes are out of stock - maybe on purpose.

Here you go: https://www.mtbr.com/threads/2019-rallon-max-tire-size.1102918/. Someone says "I fit a 2.6 DHR II no problem on 30id rim. Honestly think a Maxxis Rekon 2.8 would fit as well"

I ran a 180 dropper on my size large without issue and I could push the post all the way in. I'm pretty confident it'll fit a 200 OneUp dropper as well. Easiest way to confirm is to take a standard seat post, or something similar sized, and push it down the seat tube until it hits. Measure how much seat tube is buried and that's your max insertion. Then go shopping, most dropper posts will list an insertion length.

It only took me two walk outs to learn this. There’s always the option of SS conversion if stranded out there.

I was just about to say that you should learn to make a SS so that you don't have to walk out...

It appears you edited your post before I got to it though!

    lol
I started riding way back in the mid 1990’s on rental bikes and loaner bikes. In 2000 I bought my first real mountain bike and my best friend wanted in on the game and bought one a week or so later. We rode three times a week and jumped straight into some of the toughest trails in our area [San Diego] Noble Canyon is where we cut our teeth. One day out there I broke my der. hanger. He MacGyver’d my bike into a SS conversion trail side. Being new to the sport I don’t think he ever heard of it being done but more or less it just popped into his mechanical smarts brain.

I rock dissector on back and a high roller up front. Good nobs on sides for cornering and lower tread in middle for speed.

I’ve been happy with an Aggressor out back and a High Roller up front.

With much shorter knobs in the middle and ramps on all of em... I think it'll be a great tire for the rear or for anyone looking for a fast rolling setup with tons of side knob grip.
Let us know how it rides!

I would assume the rear clearance for off-road, a bit more stability, and peace of mind from not having bikes hanging off the back. Been on plenty of shuttle rides where I was worried about my bike hanging out back there...
Really cool concept, biggest downsides I think would be the hassle of loading into the bed and loss of bed space.

Man, right into the spokes! Such a shit show when that happens. Make sure to check your spokes, tension, and wheel true after that. Shit gets wonky after that mayhem.

Yuuuuppp. Then I break shit when I'm learning to fix it, and learn to fix it the right way.

My buddy snagged a XO build, what a steal. $7600 for that build is a smoking deal. Got himself a Wrecker, now there's two in the crew.

Fortunately, no bikes on it at the time. It was the girlfriend's old rack. She got rear ended several months back but it was a slow collision. so no damage to her. Her 4runner tailgate and bumper got a bit of a dent but that was all covered by the other's insurance. and their insurance also paid out on a new 1up rack so, she came out ahead. This thing's just been sitting in my garage and I've been meaning to post it for forever. lol.
