I was thinking the same thing or using aluminum. Take off the OEM panel use it as a template and cut it/drill it.

These engines cut fuel to the cylinders if you coast down hill in an automatic, the trans takes over. You can really increase your economy by rolling as much as possible without popping it in neutral.

That’s pretty good. I only average 15-17stcock (roughly 270) till empty. So do you find these trucks run more efficiently on 91 octane? And what scoop are you referencing that you cut off?

Isn’t that about average though? I consistently see 250-270 per tank.

OMG it's truck everyone! The gas milage is what it is. If you add more wight or lift it you will get worse milage. If you drive faster the milage will go down. If you accelerate hard and brake hard the milage will go down. Let's talk about something useful like a cool custom mod you made or an idea you have. Show us a mount you made for your propane tank or a way to store some gear in a unique way.

I've always ran 91 octane so can't vouch for it being better because I don't use the others.
These last posts are right, though. It's a truck. Didn't exactly purchase it for fuel economy.
I travel a whole 10mi/day so a tank lasts me forever.
The only reason I'm monitoring it now is, for 1 this site made me more conscious about it. and 2 I'm watching to see if changes I've made affect it.
The "scoop" I'm referring to is the intake accelerator that sticks into your fender.

If somebody does something to their truck and they notice an increase or decrease of gas mileage they're getting, isn't that basically what they did to their truck today.? Isn't that the point of this thread?

And because of the name of the thread, isn't this post off topic?

    :notsure:

This is just an observation, nothing more.

did you notice any difference cutting the scoop off? I installed a gutter rain guard to prevent chipmunks from crawling in my airbox.

Not sure about the Leer, but the BakFlip folds all the way up against the back window so you have access to the entire bed in a few seconds. Also like the look of the flush-mount.

That is good thinking. Great awareness. Too many install them for "appearances" and not functionality. Keep them where you have them and don't hit any critters!

Might have to change their name away from ditch lights though. :)

    Question,
Im asking here as I searched the site and can't find the answer.
So , Please explain in easy to understand terms. Thanks.

If i want to change my wheel and tire size, and have Tire pressure monitors installed, How do i get the Tacoma to see the new tpm sensors working with the vehicle and what do i do with the old sensors so the vehicle stops seeing them? I am going to order a set of wheels and tires from Custom offsets. or tail built offroad.
