Full size 1970 Buick LeSabre, missing the front bumper, again the smallest engine was a Buick 350. :)

The Olds VistaCruiser yesterday was a mid size (or intermediate) BTW, the Buick version was the Skylark.

    What is leaking?

Most leaks can be stopped at least temporary with a few parts from Slowes.

Well, the supply line is badly rusted/corroded. One of the t fittings that supplies the front garden hose attaches there. My attempts to fix and or plug that fitting have failed. I worry that further attempts may break that line and cause a flood. So for the time being weve gone to camping protocol. This time I have to bow out to a pro

Do you have city water - if so is the problem after the house shut off?
Are the pipes copper (good) or old galvanized iron (:eek: )?

Copper is easy to work with, the galvanized -- not so good...

If copper a few (expensive) push to connect (Shark Bite) fittings can get you back to flushing quick.

Too bad I'm some 1200 miles away, I probably have enough parts in the archives to fix it.

Hello, for some reason I feel a bit better when I post my challenges here. Finished carving the seventh bowl tonight. Only six more. Here are some entertaining pics as it is 92 down here right now.

I was thinking same… plunge router jigs. Probably 2 or 3 frames.

I like how far that top tail goes, as I always get bit by the slide on my overhand. But that slide looks like it comes back a good bit more than most, so I’d have severe rail rash rather than fang bites.

I have one and a bit to do it. I considered both that and a forstner bit on my press but, by the time I did all the steps and then still had to carve to get final shape, it would be a bit easier but take far longer. Plus, bowl depth is 2 1/4" at deepest point. I will just trudge along with the death wheel until I am done. Hope to get two done tomorrow!

If you look at the pics above, you will see I roughed out the blanks with my table saw and miter saw. That helped out a lot for the outside, did nothing for the inside.

Galvanized is my guess, based on the rust. And the problem is, kinda everywhere. I've done what I can over the years to patch and keep it going, but the time has come for a refresh. I spend too much of my time worrying about it. I've used those sharkbite fittings in the past.. for better or worse I don't know :anonymous:

The Shark Bite fittings are great for emergencies or places where access is difficult. They do have an O ring seal so someday they will probably start to leak. Overall their reliability seems quite good.

I have never seen a large job done all in SB fittings - the cost would be astronomical.

The PEX system is very fast & easy to work with, a good crimper is the largest up front cost, about $65 IIRC, get a good cutter too. Once you have the tools the parts for a job aren't too expensive.

    Good morning guys.

@Jtcmedic How’s the heat index down in the Tampa area? It’s been killing us here, expected in the 106-108 range today, again :annoyed:
