So you're confused. Not my problem.
OK, I'll bite. I'm not selling because of damage or I don't expect a skid plate is going to get dinged up. I'm selling because I underestimated the bulk of the steel plate and realized it's overkill for the way I use my truck. I should have went with an aluminum OEM or aftermarket skid plate. Anything offering more protection than the stock 'splash guard'. If I don't sell it in a reasonable amount of time, I'll put it on and that's that. Peace and Love.

Technically it was yesterday, but replaced the OEM Tonneau Cover with a Diamondback HD. Yakima OutPost rack and bike carriers soon to be fitted.

So you tried to get them to take it back first? And because you told them it was damaged and their fault they said no you can’t return it?

My Saturday morning project. The package came yesterday while the wife was working and I did the install while she was at a hair appointment this morning so she's none the wiser ;) Butt dyno says a bit more throttle response, and there is more growl when you give it the beans. I was amazed to find the nuts on the clamps for the OEM intake tube were completely loose. Not even hand tight!

We think so as well. Really happy with the purchase. And, since they are in our back yard, visited the factory to have it installed by the folks who know best how to do it.

I never tried to get RCI to accept return of product. That would have been unethical on my part. I suppose part of it was me getting caught up in the 'discount' frenzy during the Memorial Day sale. I realized my mistake the moment I unboxed the skid plate. RCI provides a sales contact that customers can use to improve their quality of service. I used this contact to describe the damage to my skid plate during shipment and ways that this damage may be prevented in the future. END OF STORY!

I wondered what was different (smooth finish) when I first saw your DB. I was going to ask how the install went. I went step by step through the instructions and it was a little bit of a job. Got a neighbor to help and got it done but can't say I would ever like to take it off and have to reinstall. Good you got all the cleats preinstalled. I added the four inner cleats after my initial install.

Removal and reinstallation of my Diamondback cover is surprisingly easy. It’s finding a place to put the cover when it’s off that is difficult.

I thought getting all the locking rods and associated parts realigned would be a problem. No? Storage issue, set of saw horses I guess.

I’m thinking that will be the challenge as well. I think before I take it off, I’m going to find a way to mark where the C clamps are located to make reinstallation easier.

I didn’t remove any of the associated parts from my truck, just the three pieces from the cover. I also put some marks on my bed rails to make positioning the center piece easier.

I saw a rep a t Overland Expo east back in 2019 and once I saw it in person I was sold. Expensive but worth every penny.

Once you have the locking rods set and locked into place no need to readjust them when you take the panels on and off.

I finally ordered a replacement rear bumper step trim thingy. The clips on mine broke years ago and it had been held on by the license plate lights.

Finally setup and installed the Doghouse RTT. Haven’t opened it out yet once it was on the truck. A real PITA installing on the prinsu rack, I’ll have to consider getting some tent riser feet to help out.
