I had the same issue with visibility and a ped in the crosswalk on a left turn, hence my earlier warning. I am keeping mine on, but am more careful about looking around both sides of the A pillar due to this. Something we should be doing anyways!

A great place to use them! Im able to park it and leave the windows open wherever I go. Monsoon weather is coming and I don’t run out to the truck to roll the windows up when there’s a sudden thunderstorm anymore.

Why would you leave your windows open when you leave the truck? Honest question. Just seems like an invitation for a thief.

i know a Southern man named Buck too. We worked as mechanics and he'd answer the phone: "so and so shop, BUCK speaking." "what did you say!?" "BUCK! like the male deer!"

    lmao

do these rain guards help with wind noise at all? or just help keep the water out your cab with the windows cracked?

    Buck speaking: :)

These are great when it's hotter than fresh fucked sheep in a forest fire and there is a chance of a shower. A vented truck will be definitely cooler when you open the door and the rain can't get in.

As far as wind noise, you drive a brick on wheels brother!

If you're talking about just cracking the windows open an inch or two, then yes, ours cuts down on wind noise running around town and some on the freeways. Once you lower the windows past them you get what you get. :plane:

Can't speak for the OP, but if you're parked in a safe place (like your driveway - can't park in the garage) and it's hotter than h-e-double hockey sticks outside, having your windows down a few inches can really keep your cab from getting hotter than biscuits. Heat can really do a number on plastics, plus plastic and vinyl continues to outgas leaving that annoying film on the inside of your windshield.

If I was a smoker or my defrost couldn't keep up, I would probably be more into it. Kudos to the person who invented them. It is a pretty good idea with a legitimate purpose. Better than the pet rock, not as good as sliced bread.

Not wide open- just a couple inches and above the edge of the guard- the windows don’t look open that way and keep the cab cooler, especially good for when you have a fridge or stuff to keep cool in there.

I'm a big fan of the guards and they are on my MUST DO list.
In AZ we don't get a lot of rain and when it does rain, I'm probably not going to crack my windows. But it does get hotter than the hinges of hell here and leaving a window or two cracked really helps the temps. With windows up our 115° days mean the inside of the truck, the seat, the steering wheel, dash, seat belt are all at about 145°. That's WITH a Ceramic Tint and Sun Shade in the Windshield.

But crack 4 windows and 115° outside means maybe 120° in the cab. That's 25 of the hottest degrees that the AC doesn't have to over come.

Also - if you are driving and crack the front windows with the rain guards and then the back window a little you get air sucked in through the rear window and out through the front window cracks. Brings in fresh air really nicely. Good for just cruising through the forest or for evacuating a Filiberto's Burrito Fart.

    Agreed.....
Trucks today are light years better than they were just 10 years ago but you still have the ballistic coefficient of an Amish Barn.
