Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Man, from what I see on this forum a lot of dealers are pretty shady.

Here they are pretty good. During warranty I was charged $70 per oil change at the dealer, using the OEM oil and filter. That was the full CDN$ cost. Never a mention of an additive.

mind you, I have not read up on the 2023 Taco to see if they changed something regarding engine oil, but if it NEEDS an additive, that would be a concern.

In 50 years driving, I have never put any additive in the oil, not even for my old muscle cars.

But no it's capitalism. Dealers have bills to pay. Rent may be $20k a month... They sure aren't making money from warranty or recall work.

More like crony capitalism. Nothing about car sales in the US is truly free market.

Friend of mine when he had is 2019 tacoma, I learned a toyota dealer charged him $120 for a wheel alignment during the first toyota care visit. As far as I know, it's suppose to be in warranty?

I thought it was mandatory for the other person to buy you dinner before they tried to....well you know :anonymous:

Op, either find another dealership near you who doesn't try and rip you off, find a local trusted mechanic, or do the stuff yourself. My service writer doesn't do this, but the problem at the dealer I go it is that unless I get the master tech that has done the higher end work on my truck, the quality of the simpler work is hit or miss. They don't allow the master tech to do oil changes, tires, etc (which I can understand). The last oil change I had the filter access door to my TRD skid plate put back on upside down. The next time, they replaced the wiper blades and left the protective guard on the driver side blade. Found out when I went to use them, lucky it didn't scratch up the windshield. I'm in the process of looking for an independent shop near me.

tell them you don't need that snake oil shit. tell them that they'd better not over tighten the lug nuts IF they actually rotate your tires.

Ask them WTF they need to check the floor mat on the drivers side, but not lube the fuel door hinge...

    Toyota care....LOL!

Find another dealership! These guys are just trying to up sale and make more money. I am fortunate to have 3 dealers within an hour of me two of the service departments are great . One of them I wouldn't trust to put air in my tires. Hopefully you have another dealership option within reason.

Do it all yourself. You know it was done, done right, and it’ll be done quicker than taking it there and waiting half the weekend.
