    SERVICE REPORT:
    Good morning,
    My Tacoma is a 2010, 4-door, Off Road, 4x4 (4.0 V-6 Auto).
Overall, this truck has been a joy to own, and nearly problem free when compared to the rugged miles it has been driven, in Baja California and the desert east of San Diego. Since I retired about 5 years ago, my driving is greatly reduced!
I find it valuable to compare with others, when parts fail or get replaced.
[If there is a better place to post this, let me know]

Last month (6-15-23), Jason (Speed-Freek in Vista, CA) replaced my valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, serpentine belt, and radiator cap. The truck has 135,234 miles at the most recent work. On a previous service visit he noticed a film of oil on the passenger side of the engine block, so we replaced both sides and the the plugs with NGK Iridium spark plugs (should be the last time for this truck, changing copper with iridium plugs). The belt was showing some age, so it was a good time to change it as it was 13 years old. Some leaking at the radiator cap was spotted too, so we changed the cap.

Previously, at 134,966 miles (5-3-23), we changed the oil (Castrol Edge High Mileage 5w-30 100% synthetic). It only had under 3,000 miles but was over a year since the previous change, and I love my truck!
At 134,505 (4-3-23), new brake pads.
    At 132,327 (3-1-22), oil change.
At 125,230 (5-8-20), oil change, differentials' and transfer case oil change, radiator fluid changed.

The previous major 'tune-up' was around 88,000 miles in 2016 (transmission oil flushed and changed, spark plugs, oil for engine and diffs.). The tranny oil change was done thanks to 'Crom' and here is his 2016 report on his method:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...d-and-adventures.362772/page-36#post-11372529

Things that failed (or wore out), not covered by warranty, over the past 13 years, I can recall: Rear shocks (I upgraded to 5100s); Driver's side front hub/bearings; The blower motor occasionally only running on high (wiggling wire connection or cleaning them, under glove box area solves); The button to open center box between seats broke.

We'll be looking forward to seeing pics of the GFC installed! Since Go Fast Campers employs 51 in Belgrade, Montana, I appreciate the support for that business. Another reason to tour Bozeman...(Museum of the Rockies with Jack Horner's dinosaur collection and displays, Gibson acoustic guitar factory...). :oldglory:Happy Fourth!

Bought new Bilstein 4600s to replace the stock suspension at 198k. Keep it running a few more years yet.

Been working on the truck a little more than usual lately. Restored my headlights today with a Cerakote restoration kit. Really surprised with how nice they turned out for being 10 years old

Installed a Coupe battery tie down

I also cleaned up the interior and my wet okole seat covers.
    IMG_7865.jpg

And last but not least, reinstalled my TRD catback with an extra Borla muffler. The aFe side pipes sound good but they’re just too loud for the daily drive

Anyone try using 60% Deet mosquito repellent to restore their glazed headlights?

All I did was finally replace the randomly tapping blend door actuator.
Right where I left it after the blower and resistor repair.

Sadly, I cleaned her up for "for sale" photos. I don't need the money, but my wife wasn't exactly excited when I came home with the 1991. She kinda politely told me to sell a truck... that's when I joked I'd sell her 4runner then... things went submarine after that.

I feel if you guys don't need the money then having three vehicles doesn't hurt anything. In fact it's good to have them. You never know when one of your vehicles has an issue and be in a shop for a couple days or hopefully it won't happen but a car wreck, etc. It's better to have a back up just in case than be in a situation where your having to scramble and buy something or find a ride because a situation happened.

I have owned spare vehicles for at least 10 years. I sold my spare car in October and my spare suv in January. It was nice always having a spare but it does get to be a pain with the extra license, inspections, maintenance, a little extra insurance but, mostly, paying taxes on something that you don't use much. Just paid my personal property tax bill and was nice paying for just 2 cars instead of 3, or more, for a change. With current rates I took the extra car money and put it in a 6.5% yield cd. So now I will have to pay taxes on that interest. Government is getting their money no matter what you do.

Did a 4x4 swap and completed it a week ago with minimal issue except a check engine light on for a bank 2 sensor 2 low voltage o2 sensor. Swapped sensors left to right same issue. Had B+ voltage but no voltage out to pcm. Was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out. 3 hours later about to test power at pcm and reconnected the o2 sensor connector, the wire popped out. Found the issue. Was getting only 12mpg Highway.

Installed Clazzios yesterday, with heated seats. I need some more supplies to finish them up with wiring. Overall a pretty smooth process. Everyone is right, my fingers hurt. Also, removing the headrests from the truck made finishing the buckle way easier.

Today I installed URD cam gears.

    Things that helped a lot:

    - Etorx for SAI reinstall. Removing the studs was great.
    - Wrench extender bar for the 17mm
    - 17mm Crows Foot
    - Paint pen

My truck also has a Overland Tailor Tune (OTT) and I can't say I can feel huge gains from the Cam Gears like I did from the tune. This was an initial on ramp test drive to and from , with some country roads in between. Certainly no worse!

What I can say is I immediately feel more glide and less deceleration when coasting. Areas where I typically glide or apply slight throttle, I was instead applying brakes because the truck was coasting so much better. This must be the lack of reburn and less compression of exhaust gases at the end of the exhaust stroke?
