Apparently the current Gen Ram can do TPMS sensors in the trailer tires. That’s pretty cool. Not that Tacomas are great tow vehicles but man is it strange they can’t monitor more than 4 sensors. Why wouldn’t you want to be sure your full size spare was properly inflated? I guess if you have a compressor on board you don’t need to care?

Meanwhile I’m over here trying to disable TPMS entirely. Why would you not want to be able to have two sets of wheels and tires without a blazing red error light on the dash?

I can see the cost annoyance. But it’s one feature I really like. Took me a while to figure out I had a cloned sensor messing things up, tossed it snd now I’m good to go. Two sets for each vehicle which has sensors. Honda syncs at startup just fine. Tacoma needs to be told when swapping, hence tech stream or a TPMS autel tool. Or I get autel sensors and clone but keep them far away. Just can’t have a sensor in the spare which I find annoying.

I wasn’t aware you can run two sets and change with techstream. I have techstream, hmm.

Do want a HD, but not in the market for another 5 years. Love my Tacoma, but questioning my decision to buy it, maybe I should have gotten a half-ton? Mpgs aren’t that much different or even better with a 1/2, bit more room and can tow better.

I am usually covered with filth, luxo interiors are idiotic to me. It is trail clearing season here, so generally covered in sawdust, bar/2-stroke oil, mud, dust…and blood.

Trails are a fricken mess this year. Then the skies like to open up on ya, raining buckets with 1/2” size hail…lux interiors are ¡No bueno! Even the cloth seats in the Tacoma are fucking dumb!

Trailhunter would be better if Toyota offered it in XC. I'd like the option of 4x4 or the XC. I'd get the Rwd PreRunner, if I like the truck when I see it I don't need 4wd but it's nice to have. Prerunner will probably be priced close to any other 4x4 truck I could buy, and it might not be a popular allocation where I'm at. Toyota Tacoma, the truck for everyone if you can find it, and are willing to pay what ever the dealer asks for it.

Might be possible to do a 4x4 conversion for the prerunner. That would be a fun mod.

Sounds like fun but I'm not doing that. I could get a WRX or a AWD Corolla and a RWD SR XC.

Don't know but it reads that way from Toyota. It would seem more practical for Toyota to offer 4x4 onn the XC, and offer an XC Offroad Package, but how Toyota has hyped the Prerunner, and offers 4x4 on DC models. I don't think there will be a 4x4 XC.

My guess is they’ll offer 4WD in the SR XC.

That's what l was thinking too, it will be the "budget" 4x4 model.

    If you're getting a Chevy diesel you're getting a full-size...not a fair comparison to a tacoma

SR5 tile on Toyotas website says xtra and double cab options. Don’t see why they wouldn’t have a 4wd SR5 xtra can config too.

Said it before, but I think TRD sport/OR models on up are going to be relatively un-configurable. And the SR5 will have a shit ton of packages. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a OR performance package for the SR5.

I think the Sport and Off Road will have Base and Premium, you will have to step up to Premium to get the Optional Hybrid which should push the price close to 50K.

Toyota not offering a 4x4 XC would be a puzzling move. Dealers should have fun with the multiple configurations and options. Still not sure how more options is going to work with Toyota's allocation system when it comes to the cutomer getting what they want.

That wouldn’t be a terrible thing.

I crossed shopped the two (and few other platforms above and below)

Xc cabs are only useful if you have no friends . I'm surprised they still make then honestly

I don't have any friends, none that I want to cart around in a truck. I had a crew cab and got rid of it because no one ever sat in the back seat. The interior space was nice but it felt like a waste.

Or don’t like being a taxi. Used to do the carpool thing on trips, it never fails…someone has a meltdown during the trip, then you’re stuck with them for the next week…and all the way back.

Now I am like, I’ll meet you all there, that way I can go at my own pace, if someone is a being a pain in the ass, can pack up and leave without worrying about be stuck. Next truck might very well be a crew cab, but would delete the rear seats for gear storage.
