Electric Tacoma will be a two seater double cab. No room for rear seats, that's where the batteries will be.

 

What? Are you drunk lol ? The seats will still fold flat , just no under the seat storage

 

On a full electric? Hybrid all ready has that problem. You could store the batteries innthe bed, but that would defeat the purpose of a truck. There probably won't be enough room between the frame rails, Toyota will probably use conventional drive train layout with a front mounted electric motor.

What kind of battery do you think they are using? Also you can still sit in the back of a tesla so you really have no clue

 

Those do look nice I prefer the GMC designs over the Chevy. The sierra HD can be optioned similar to the Alaskan package.

 

Why do you think GM, Ford, and Ram only have fullsize electric trucks? Midsizes aren't big enough to fit the batteries, they can't accommodate the payload either.

The 2500 Chevy doesn’t look bad either. The new Silverado is a huge upgrade visually, too. I think GM makes the best looking trucks right now, but don’t have the best rep for maintenance. Good thing the diesels come with a 100k warranty.

The more I look at the rear end of the new Tundra, the more I hate it. I hope the new Tacoma doesn’t have that same super tall tailgate and tall end caps. It looks so weird to me. I’ll def consider a midsize again once the kids are out of the truck 3 at a time, but tundra design gives me pause until I see the new Tacoma in person.

 

They are not using Lithium batteries , they are using solid state batteries . We don't even know how big they will be

 

All the GMC trucks have standard LED headlights including the base model. I seriously consider ordering a short bed regulacab 1500. Wasn't sure about the 2.7 t4, and for the price I could get more in another 1/2 ton. I still like those short beds. Fox 2.Os and the AEV Bison wheels it might look pretty good.

 

Toyota doesn't even know. People will be waiting for ever for a gas 4th gen. I don't think the ev Tacoma will be designed like the Lightning. Solid state, why isn't anyone using sodium ion?

 

They may actually have Li in them but not as much as conventional canister cells. He doesn't understand any aspects of how EV's are engineered. He doesn't realize an entirely different frame will probably be used for the BEV pickup.

 

Have you paid attention for the last year, Toyota is developing the solid state battery. The radio that is in the pro and trail hunter is on the solid state platform

 

It won't be a Tacoma if it uses a different frame. Toyota just designed this frame. Don't think they want to design another frame for truck that's on a 20y design cycle.

 

They already announced they have a SS battery.

 

That speaker and the hybrid is only there to say, hey look we electrified our trucks because regulations. The only real world benefit is the uprated invertor capability. Which isn't a bad thing to have.

 

Is it in any of the vehicles yet?
