    Pork butt and ribeyes were on sale, so I replenished my ground meat stash. Portioned and vacum sealed. Canned a batch of kidney beans with cubanele peppers and onions. Multi tasking....

    This is a Cantonese dish called “Swui Daan”. Means “water eggs.” It’s a soft, silky, savory steamed egg custard.

    perfect for a wife with a sore throat. :(

    Short verdict, not impressed, won't be buying it again.

    Somehow after swimming in sauce for 6 hours in the slow cooker there was hardly any flavor and the chicken was dry.

    Loading it up with cheese, refried beans, cilantro lime rice, sour cream and cilantro lime sauce helped immensely.

    I love the hot sauce, which is why I had such high expectations for this stuff.

    It wasn't horrible, it just wasn't great.
