Same goes for the Hilux. I don’t understand why they don’t offer it in the US. Fleet truck buyers would buy enough of them that those of us who want one could get one.

Trucks are getting heavier, wider, and longer and not everybody wants that.

Think that is the thing, not “enough” of the consumer market wants them. I like the RC, but wouldn’t buy one, love my AC, but they had to go and kill that too…supposed not enough consumer demand, and those pesky crash standards that “somehow” one of the World’s largest auto manufacturers can’t seem to solve.

Gotcha, not a huge fan of RTTs (had a Wilderest on my 1G) 5’ beds aren’t big enough for me, prefer just a cot and a topper. Like my stuff more stealth. Should of bought a taller topper though…

I'd definitely go for a Hilux in work truck trim single cab or extended cab.

I think the Hilux GR looks better than the 4G Pro.

I was hoping they’d go with a common world platform but for some reason the US has to have a unique Taco.

I dunno bout that, they both are equally ugly in their own special way. Did they contract Bushwhacker for the fender flares? Lol!

I’m guessing because every tire shop in the country has negative offset wheels and that’s the first place they go after the dealer.

Bronco Raptor is probably the worst offender of all of them…good gawd that is ugly.

Prefer none, or a slight bulged fender.

This is outside a river prawn shack. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one with OEM wheels.

Like that here too with just about every truck.

I like steelies myself. Those aluminum ones that mimic steelies aren’t bad either, though I don’t see the point cost-wise other than saving a bit of rotational weight.

I used Wuhan knockoff* FJC steelies.

*a lot of your “designed in the USA, built in a DOT approved factory” wheels are drop shipped from Wuhan to the ports of Sandiago and LA.

Have a set of stock 5 spokes, but took them off because they nicked a little bit of mpgs.

The stock aluminum that came on the truck aren’t terrible.

Sure do like those heritage stripes, thought about doing mine, but kinda like the stealth of it too…don’t want it to stand out.

They won't do regular cabs because EPA gas mileage is figured by interior volume.

Well if the stout is coming they should have made it the size of the 1st gen tundra. I really wish they would have just made the crew cab area larger or offered a mega cab variant like the 2nd gen tundra or ram.

Well the Tacoma is already about the size of the 1G Tundy, just a touch narrower…so if the Stout was that size, wouldn’t make any sense.

Mega cab on a Tacoma…guess I don’t understand the desire, just buy a Tundra. The new cab is smaller than the 2G Tundy. I played around with them for 3 or so hours one day, really liked it. Ergonomics were great, and plenty of rear seat leg room in the crew. And really… the Tundra didn’t feel all the much bigger than my Tacoma. Not sure why guys have issues with it. It looks bigger, maybe because of the grill, sure does drive nice and nimble though, car like even.

Sorry I wans't really clear, I think the stout should be maverick/1st gen tacoma size which it looks like it will be. Then the tacoma could have become 1st gen tundra size. I would just really want the cab to be 1st gen tundra size especially with the 6 seater option. That's my biggest issue with the new tundra, no center seat and the cab is smaller all around especially the crew cab.

    Ahhhh….gotcha.

There are only two of us, so rear seats aren’t much of a concern. Be used mostly for storage, though I have used my AC to haul people in an emergency. Was thinking of doing a Tundra next (can’t really convince my wife on me buying a Ford). Most likely do the Double Cab and do a 60/40 rear seat delete for the handful of times I do have to haul an extra person. Though sitting in both, think I like the crew cab better, but really could use an 8’ bed.
