Youtube doesn't care about shit other than views, that's what pays their bills. You could be spouting misinfo all day long 24/7. If your videos are getting views, they roll out the red carpet and start throwing cheddar around

Back in the 1800s when info was shared through print, your material would be vetted and fact checked by peers and people who had experience with the topic at hand. Nowadays the viewer has to sort through all the stuff and try to figure out who knows what they're talking about and who doesn't.

Best part about the internet is anybody can join and post content. The worst part about the internet is anybody can join and post content.

Scotty has some good points, and I will watch him. Car Care Nut is top notch! As with anything on the interwebs, Caveat emptor.

I checked out a few of Scotty's videos quite awhile ago. Couldn't stand to listen to him, he's just too damn annoying. And some of the titles, "If you do XXX then you are stupid!". o_O

Most of his video titles are click bait, but he is entertaining. Oh, and I want to shove that damn Toyota Celica up his ass he is so biased it's annoying.

My father in law was a mechanic, like owned his own shop and fixed other peoples cars all day mechanic. When he retired from that people still wanted him to fix their cars, so he started working in his driveway. It worked just like his shop did, only wetter when it rained, hotter when the sun was out, and colder when it snowed. He was a tough old bird and I never heard him complain.

As for Kilmer, he can fuck the hell right off.

I personally can’t stand the guy. Shrill voice, dumb antics, bounces all around the point before making it. Clickbait titles.

I don’t watch car repair videos for entertainment, I watch them at times if I’m stumped or if I need to learn something. I bet he’s a smart enough guy but can’t stand his delivery.

I think a lot of Scotty Kilmer's stuff is for the entertainment factor. Perhaps someone with not a lot of car maintenance experience (like myself) might watch his videos because they're entertaining. Yes I understand how some could say he's annoying. But if you take the information that you need from his videos with an open mind I feel a lot of his advice is pretty good. I don't agree with him on everything but at the end of the day you aren't going to agree with everyone anyways.

The Car Care Nut that guy is a book of knowledge on Toyotas and I feel his expertise is spot on.

I have to agree with everything you said - The Car Care Nut Guy is a Toyota mechanic so it's more on point for all of us.

I stopped watching in 2013 when he posted about how lifting your truck was stupid.

if you buy the right shit and just grease things like you should, you’ll have a truck that rides the same or better than stock, and have the advantage of more ground clearance.
He’s an old man with bias, and lack of content. only so many ways he can package the same can of biscuits in a different tin.

Scotty had his own garage but is now retired. Car Care Nut is very good but not nearly as entertaining and kind of boring to watch. Car Coach is also very good.
