Incase anyone else is looking for this, there was another thread and someone posted about using these for the bed mat. I can't find the post so I cannot quote them but this hands down is easy, lightweight and inexpensive. I got two of these at Harbor Freight. I'll be putting them together and taping them, some light trimming and it will fit perfectly. Sorry, the Pic wouldn't go so posted that below.

Looking at bed mats for my new truck- I was going to order OEM until I saw the Weathertech. Retails for $169
Anyone have one of these? I like how it rolls up the sides. I had a cheap one in my 2nd gen & shit was always getting under it via the edges- especially nails, screws & bolts.

It looks nice, but does it stop your cargo from sliding around like a regular bed mat would?

Not for me. I barely like their floor mats.

Bed mat for me is OE or horse stall cut to fit like OE. If I have heavy things to slide in the bed the mat has to come out, and rolling it up and laying in the garage is easier than wrasslin with that Weather Tech thing would ever be.

When doing a deep clean/detailing of the truck, I pull the mat out, rinse both sides and the bed out. Yea, there's stuff there sometimes, but nothing worth fretting over.

OEM for me but... Under the mat I have a sheet of 1/2" plywood cut to fit for when I need to slide things in and still protect the bed.

OEM since Christmas 2021...paid less than $85. It did have a strong smell that went away eventually.

Anyone aware of any OEM bed mat deals currently? All the links in this thread are several years old.

I never thought about if stuff still slides around on the Weathertech. I would assume it's the same injected mold process using similar materials to the interior mats. Plus, if it's as slick as the existing bed, what's the purpose? I have the front D rings that are pretty low & I don't know if the mat will clear where it rolls up wall. Does trimming void warranty? Plus, I imagine it's a pita to remove & probably doesn't roll up. How the heck are they shipping this? In a 4x5 box? Wife reminded me of her Weathertech mats in her vehicle that fit well new but fit like crap 5 years later. They don't hold their shape. Will the bed mat do the same thing? It gets hot in that bed in sun on a 117 degree day with a BakFlip MX4 closed up. Hell, I had some black plastic paint trays back there yesterday- they totally lost their shape from that heat! Well, scratch that off the list! I'm still thinking that carpet mat would be nice, the one that goes right up tailgate too. I use the tailgate often as a workbench. Problem is the hefty price.

Boy, I'd sure like to know your trick to making the smell go away. Its been well over 3 years, and mine still smells like I'm carrying around a rubber manufacturing factory. Maybe cause I have a tonneau cover, idk.

    I'm wanting a DB tonneau cover...but I'm gonna wait.

In the meantime, an open bed aired out the rubber smell.

It was more prominent when I opened the back auto-sliding window...so I stopped opening it for a bit.

I would say it was a good month before the smell was gone.

It's probably good to remove it and wash it separately as you're washing your truck.

I don't use ArmorAll or any cleaner to make it shine...just some good scrubbing with the used suds after the truck is washed.

I bought and installed my OEM Matt before I drove my truck home the first day. Great quality.
