Does this look right? Had new lower control arms installed recently and since then my steering has felt loose, and not as solid as before, trying to narrow down common or possible causesPXL_20230615_205403821.jpg

That looks like a Moog bushing that's seen better days.

If your steering feels loose Id look at the tie rods first.

Is there supposed to be that much space in-between attachment points

Do these bushings come with new lower control arms? If so mine should have been replaced when Toyota replaced them

Looks to me like the right side bushing has disintegrated and fallen out. See how dry and cracked the left one looks. Or someone forgot to put it in.

Got your receipt from the repair? It should list all parts replaced and will show if the bushings were replaced. If not, then lookup the PN for the lower control arm to verify if it came with bushings preinstalled.

If work was done at a dealership, you have a 1 year warrantee so take it back and ask what is going on and what they plan to do about it.

I have these exact issues. I have 200k kms on my LCAs. Looks like a trip to the dealer is in order.

Here is a pic from my 2022 with less than 5000 miles and my 2007 with 220,000 miles. Looks like gap on one side is normal.

Good to know ! Do they also come with the lower ball joint? I’m over 200k miles so seems good insurance to think about replacing both the bushings and ball joint.

Yes, if you order from dealer, comes with the ball joint. I just replaced my LCA and it came with everything, bushings and ball joint for like 290.00. Note, if you are doing yourself, recommend ordering the part number Lower Control Arm Bushing Bolt sleeve 48409-60020 (OEM). Everything came apart easy, but this piece had to be sawzalled out due to being rust attached to the bushing sleeve.

The gap on the right side is supposed to be there. That bushing looks like it has been on the road for years, how many miles have you driven since the LCA install?
