I hate the sprint race format.

That said, that was a hell of an entertaining sprint race -- so long as one ignores the first two positions, as per usual lately. Stroll/Alonso was epic, as were many of the other battles. I guess fishlips has the "I'm world champion" free pass from the officials; that first lap slide into the middle of the turn would have gotten a 10 second penalty for anyone else.

I still hate the sprint race format. Maybe they should only do it on rainy weekends...

I wonder if Alonso was padding out his pay cheque by staying behind Stroll and then also made the last couple of laps look dramatic to help Stroll’s ego?

You get a track limit warning! And you get a track limit warning! Everyone - do you want a track limit warning, too?

The dutch idiot savant still won, but racing WAS better than most of this season.

The off track stuff. Seems a bit arbitrary, sure sometimes they are off but seems like the stewards don't always count it.........

They wouldn’t be so close if the track limits were walls.. I think they should be called more consistent tho…

The concensus post race was some sort of feature that will penalize performance. Sausage curbs that will cause floor damage, gravel or grass. Given that Horner was one of the many advocating changes and the track is The Red Bull Ring, expect something for next year.

The current arrangement makes for too annoying of a whine from the cars for spectator enjoyment.

Tragic fatality at Spa, but impossible to comment without details.

Strange how they manage to do it when its wet… the annoying whine was from the loose nuts behind the wheel, not the white lines on the track.

that being said.. bring the gravel closer to the track and you get them on the track. Sausage kerbs and it turns into an airshow. Hard to figure out a clear answer outside of, keep the damn car within the lines.

dont forget that we got a more exciting race from the white lines. Perez out of position and through the field; his tussle with Sainz might not have happened. Penalties forcing new pit strats and great racing. Personally I think we need this level of enforcement and even more time penalties for everything past the warning at three. If they hold fast we’ll see the drivers adapt and keep it cleaner.

The tragedy at Spa is unfortunate, but it was poor visibility in a torrential downpour. Poor guy got sideways on the kemmel straight and T-Boned. The race should have probably been delayed or canceled.

Greatest drivers in the world can’t even keep it on the track. I am all for grass, gravel, sausage curbs. Make it exciting, anything is better than the drivers complaining about the rules that pertain to every driver.

Next race they should just issue penalties but not tell the teams and make all the time additions after the race finishes. The amount of butthurt would be incredibly entertaining.

Haha! This Nascar street race on a wet track is fun to watch! Jensen Button is in 8th place so far.

1200 reported possible violations, to put into perspective,

    20 driver x, 72 laps =1440

That is 83% of the laps run.

A bit higher than that since Hulkenberg didn’t finish.

I have an idea. Put ice on the other side of the line. Or oil.
