Funny thing is, I’m probably just going to really step up my leaf spring game. Only way I’m linking it is if I go basically full chassis. Which isn’t happening with this truck.

I know…. But I kinda want to see how far leafs can be pushed. I’m betting it’s pretty damn far for a guy like me!

Leafs are for trees, you say... Well links are for chains! :ballchain:

Harry knocked it out of the park with the SUA/Frame brace setup. Gonna need tires soon (had this set for 2 different trucks and 60k miles), but she ready to hit the dirt.

Thank god Toyota changed the LBJ orientation so the failure isn’t catastrophic.

Looks like the screw on top cap blew out when the ball joint popped out of the cup.
Wonder how old his joints are??

Drove from NC to Moab and back with about 800 miles of offroad across Utah and Colorado. No issues with the Howe or JD parts. Skipped Hells Revenge and the other local stuff. Already did it before the JD Fab upgrades.

What were you doing when it happened? I’m tossing around the idea of dumping mine for uniballs. Ever since I caged my truck they develop play crazy fast. I’m constantly checking the things and it’s becoming annoying.

Kind of what I meant. The threaded side of it.

FWIW too, I’m poking at Harry to hopefully get him to make a uniball swap kit. I think EMF’s are great for some, not so great for others. You just can’t argue the strength of a uniball. He could maybe even make it a drop down on the website as an option when ordering a front kit. :spending:

Mine already have play at 5k ish miles on them. When we can flip the truck around, I need to tear into the front.

Anyone else makes a loud popping noise when they're coming to a stop?

greasing them seems to help for a day or two. I've had the front kit on for about a year now.

They are probably loose and need to be tightened. The EMF joints.

Is this something that can be done on the truck or do I have to take everything apart?

Am I just tightening the top cap?

    Thanks for your help!

Popping coming to a stop sounds more like the uniballs at the frame pivots. The EMF’s are more likely to pop and bang while making tight turns.

Interesting, I'll check them both out. For the EMF joints, I can take a spanner wrench to the top cap to tighten them up?

There’s a set screw on the side. Have to pop em out.
