Plug and play, or did you need an adapter harness?
I’m guessing you have the non JBL system. I wonder if it would work swapping JBL for JBL also.

I got pretty lucky, I found this one on eBay from a reputable recycled parts seller that had the headunit w/ the navigation unit still attached for under 300 bucks.

Yep non JBL, I had to get an adapter harness to make this work. I got mine from AutoHarnessHouse. I believe you can swap a JBL for JBL as long as it’s the 2020+ Tacoma JBL headunit, I recall reading the Sienna JBL headunit would not work with the Tacoma amp. If you email AutoHarnessHouse Brian is super helpful if you tell him what system you have and what will work with it

I cut down / out the "son" of a forsaken pine three that grew up from a stump / root system that was removed 15 years ago. So I used my truck as a truck. Loaded the bed with the fragments, and hauled it up the hill to my burn pile. Put it in 4-Lo to stretch its legs...

Bonus was that a bird must have nested in it some time ago. Growing inside this thing is a beautiful maple tree, maybe 8 ft tall. Now that the ugly pine won't be competing with it for water, this think should take off...

Soooo... dumb question regarding the OE QI charger. I've seen them dissed repeatedly but ours seems to work fine. It's slooooow and gets pretty warm, but does seem to work on our iPhones. So why do the cool kids hate on them so much? TIA!

Love the look. I too, went with aqua, to match the dash lighting.

My first ride was a '78 Buick powder blue in and out. For that old dog, I tapped into the instrument cluster lights, and connected a string of 4 Christmas lights (in blue, of course) to light the foot-wells. I was so psyched when these were put on the street that I could do it again...

    Hey Folks!

I got this AutoSky Wireless CarPlay today. It works great, no lag or startup time. I used Velcro to stick it under the dash and keep it out of the way. Give it a shot. It’s totally worth the $60 to get the wires out of the way.

Oh man that sound sketchy lol.

I've had footwell lights on my last 2 cars (cold cathodes on my Mazda6 and then led strips on my tC2 daily driver). It's so much nicer to use these VLEDS that just plug into each other. I don't like tapping into factory wiring, but I was okay with it in this case seeing as how I'll never use the OEM Qi charger again.

Since the BAKflip lets you use your bed rails and the full bed I think it got a lot of attention. Now I think others are adding and/or have those features.
I really do like my MX4.

Wait....King BAKflip? I thought the play was King Leer... :)

I don’t believe they had any part numbers listed as the harness is custom, but this is the page where I got all the info and ordered from https://www.autoharnesshouse.com/entune.html
I believe you need to email them if you have the JBL as the form on their page is only for non JBL

I might try this out! Was having trouble finding one without complaints about lag or startup time. Any disconnecting issues? That was another complaint I was seeing on multiple other wireless carplay plugins.

Nothing sketchy about it. IIRC GM cars of that era had a 5A fuse for the instrument panel. The factory radios of the time period had three plugs. One for power, one for the front speakers, and one for the rear. The car was outfitted from the dealer with an aftermarket AudioVOX radio, so that radio had a harness to connect to the factory wiring. The old GM Delco radios (and aftermarket radios, if supported) had lights that dimmed with the instrument panel. This was provided with the power plug. (Black was ground, Yellow was hot, grey was instrument panel lights; if there was a power antenna switched with the radio, it was on this plug, too... maybe orange?? My '78 had a windshield antenna, so it didn't come with that circuit.) I was able to "tap in" without modifying the factory harness since the aftermarket radio didn't support "GM factory" wiring, and they (the dealer) provided the adapter.

The Christmas lights that were repurposed were a 35-bulb string of blue. So 120/35 is 3.5 V drop per bulb. Cut away four bulbs, and you have your ~12 V. Marker lights on, footwell lights on - and dim-able with the rest of the instruments.

I never blue a (5A) fuse. Pun intended.

Installed the Carven Cat-Back exhaust and a TRD Rad cap.

    Sounds throaty!

While underneath, I quickly noticed the “leaking/weeping” rear end. Will let the dealership know at the next service.

    Anyone else with this experience?
