How is the wrap holding up? I have that same one, but haven' put in on yet. Was hesitant after reading that wraps are only good for 5 years before they start cracking. I park outside as well.

I get the same glare off my flat hood. I swapped out my scooped hood to try and get rid of it. Unfortunately
I wear glasses, so I can't use sunglasses to get rid of it.

No cracking at all but there are some small areas of discoloration likely attributed to waterspots trapping dirt then evaporating in the same areas over time. Truck has never been in the garage in 7 years of ownership and probably gets washed every 6 - 8 weeks if it doesn't rain.

It's one of the advantages of having quicksand paint, it never looks dirty.

Forgot to add this to my original response, no regrets at all about installing the wrap on the hood. It does what I need it to do, looks pretty good and makes my truck a little different from all the other trucks I see on the road and in the wild.

I wish lassik was an option. Astigmatism in both. So it's not really a feasible option. I was picking up a bit of it today even while overcast. Just going to have to get it wrapped. Seems like the only option.

I was saying I had eye surgery because they are sensitive as well like yours, not as a means to help your situation haha. Eye surgery would just make ya more sensitive. That’s why I have to wear polarized sunglasses now.

There's a few pre-cut hood decals out by some online vendors, I picked mine up for about $80 then did the install myself. You can also check some local graphic designers for a custom graphic. My guess depending on the size, material and if they install would run anywhere from $200 - 350.

Most sign/wrap shops will likely stock matte or flat black rolls and can do just that small strip across the back of the hood for you.

Prescription polarized glasses are available but pricey, but cocoons could help.

I wrapped mine in Expel Stealth. It's a paint protection film that creates a satin finish. It killed a lot of my glare and I'm happy with it.

The shape of the hood is a great example of form over function. My TRD pro has a factory black sticker in the area that reflects the most but it's not flat enough and still reflects a lot.

Yep, noticed the exact same problem within minutes of driving mine after buying it in 2017. I bought a strip of fake carbonfiber overlay exactly like @gdr shows in post #7. Only mine follows the curve.

This has been helpful to have on certain occasions. Not an answer for hood glare but definitely helpful in low sun east/west driving situations. Cheap enough to try out.

I have a 2022 Tacoma trd Ice Cap in color and where sunglasses everytime. Live in AZ and the glare is bad.

I wouldn't Survive in AZ. 80 is too hot for me to be outside and not dying.

The glare only bothers me on the concave part of the hood that points back at the driver. Since it's concave it reflects the sun back from a wide range of angles, pretty any time the sun is overhead or behind me.

Here's a photo. It looks worse in person because although it's a small spot, the camera doesn't capture how bright it is.
