I was in communication with an Amazon investigation member and let her know it was likely all a mishap, so shouldn’t be any issues.

Don't mind me, I was being facetious. I do that from time to time.

The plot thickens. The Amazon driver just came back and we had a conversation about it. Super nice kid.

Easy to criticize without the full story. I've had to eat my words a few times. These are the stories we need to remember though. Things aren't always what they seem and there's still some good folks out there. Unfortunately, times have taught us all to be paranoid. Thank you for the follow up story! And good on that young man to come back and have a conversation with you! That's fuckin awesome!

I thought it was very cool. He came back apologetic about the mixup with the neighbor and wanted to make sure everything was made right. I assured him that I reached back out to Amazon as soon as it happened and told them the driver did nothing malicious, so hopefully it doesn’t mess with his job at all. I would feel really bad about that.

That's rad. Kinda sounds like he went out of his way to make it right. Gotta keep those guys around. Props to you for the solid follow through. Welcome to AZ btw.

Weird thing happened this morning, sitting in my skivvies, had just gotten done feeding the baby and there's a knock on my door. It's a brave or ignorant soul to knock on a door at 8 on a Saturday morning. Anyhow, the dog flips her shit, which causes the baby to flip his shit, which results in momma flipping her shit.

Now that everyone's shit has been flipped upside-down I notice it is USPS, so the latter from above. Says I have a package for you and you owe $3.40. Me being halfway through my 3rd cup of coffee, retort with, "I ain't ordered a damn thing COD since I bought dirt bike parts in the 90s, what the fuck are you talking about?" Poor kids eyes got big as saucers, "well it's from Robert Horne Ford, shows the paid postage but not enough." Now I'm beyond confused, but I bought my truck from there so I figure it must semi legit, scrounge up a few dollars and change and he goes on his way.

Turns out the prior owner of my truck found his spare key fob and brought it to the dealer who sent it to me.

    Happy 4th!

I feel like some people just need to be banned from using power tools.

Doing a little bit of home improvement / DIY stuff in the next few weeks which may involve a new washer and dryer. Looking at ways to convert from side by side to stacked, and one of the moving parts are the drain cleanouts. Figured I'd pop the cover off and give it a look, rather than be surprised once the time comes to start moving shit.

    This is what I see.
    20230702_154302.jpg

So basically, running the cover down with the screw crooked and then HOLDING THE TRIGGER ON THE DRILL for like 4-5 seconds extra to make sure you've properly destroyed the work you just did installing the cap.

Oh yeah, back on AC. The fan on the outside unit ended up seizing up and the tech was out at 10am the next morning to replace it. Overall, I got a free portable unit out of all of this so I can’t complain too much.

And we keep the house at 78 and just leave it there.

Anyone have any good 2 or 3 night vacation type rentals or know of any good air bnbs etc in Northern AZ for this month. Kids went to their dads for a month and want to take my lady somewhere outta the heat and preferably by some water. Price doesn't matter much, just need a sweet spot in the mountains to get outta the heat and romance my girl for a night or 2. Looking for a cabin or something similar away from people. Let me know!
