A buddy of mine had his front brakes swapped to a 1gen caliper set, but unfortunately the mechanic he went to has since retired and can’t be found but I was wondering if anyone else had any information on the process? Is it a direct swap out with 1st Gen parts? Or would I have to change some brake lines around also? I guess would have to figure out a way to mount them also?

I'm guessing to fit 15" wheels.

Downsizing on brakes with 37" tires is inadvisable. :) But for academic discussion:

2nd gen rotor shows 67.5 mm height: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1279145&cc=1432865&pt=1896&jsn=566
1st gen rotor shows 70.5 mm height: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1279282&cc=1375343&pt=1896&jsn=724

This means you'll need a 3mm hub spacer between the hub flange and rotor hat to space it out. A 1/8" spacer will probably work. You'll probably have to hunt for a spacer that fits within the ID of the rotor hat, or sand down the diameter of a larger spacer.

Are master cylinder bore sizes the same between 1st Gen and 2nd Gen? Not going to be a huge difference in front brake torque... but something to think about as the brakes are a system.
