Using heat to free bolts near the spindle/bearing/CV axle

    I'm trying to free up one of the bolts that holds the dust shield on. Is it safe to apply heat in this area? Would likely heat up the bearing I would think.

    I'd be less worried about applied heat and more worried about all that rust :puke:

    Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    I think it comes down to just How much Heat.

    Are you talking oxy- fuel or just a propane?

    Worse case bolt a heat sink to the spindle bolt hole a nice block of Aluminum.

    Heat the spindle a nice cherry red.

    Thanks y'all. Gave it 30 seconds with a MAP torch and she came right out.
