Beats paying $4/bag at Home Depot, and you reduce the opportunity of being labeled a mall-crawler.

    - Be sure to budget for a Tundra rack upgrade.
    - That's either an early 1st gen hub or custom-drilled hub, on a stock 2nd gen bearing. You'll want your own shop press to do the semi-annual bearing replacements when running 40" tires.

After watching the video's and thinking about this I came to the conclusion as to why I wanted a Tacoma in the first place.
No its not to "get the honeyies" or "homies" not judging.:)
its the fact that right now, today I can jump in my truck and drive it to Mexico or Alaska and not bring a garage of parts and chest of tools with me like I used to with my jeep and dodges. The KISS principle comes to mind. Yes I'll have to bring a wheel bearing. lol. but thats on me not the truck. Portals/Marlin hd kit, sure I'd love to have them but daily driving work truck/ adventure when time permits truck, I personally don't think these kits can go the distance, below freezing temps, and road salt corrosion could be factors but lets see maybe one day there will be a post somewhere that claims 500k on these kits and no major breakage just maintenance. I think unimog make portals but that's all factory with their trucks and yes they go the distance, so I could be wrong hear but for the guys and gals on hear that have very little to no mods on their trucks, :hattip: your going to go the distance guaranteed.
    :D just felt like talking:D

and thoes pics of brake shoes, thats all toyota, even bad parts will get you home

Only front diff fluid casualty. Trans, txfr, and rear all good. Txfr had some vacuum when I cracked the drain. Valve sticking closed? Had no pressure built up after a warm up drive. Need to finally find those breathers now and inspect.

Meanwhile I went on the newbie run with four toolboxes and spare parts. :anonymous:

Ended up using the jump pack to help @JCOV4runner get off the trail when he blew his alternator...

Does anyone know if the transfer case breathers were changed from 2016 to 2019? I can locate the two for the front diff and the tranny one but can't seem to see the transfer case ones past the tranny breather (as seen in the video below from another thread)

Water line was 36". Located breathers are 38" high so likely only got a slash. Can't say for the transfer case?
