Toyota sold 1,219,483 more vehicles last year than Tesla. Subaru, Nissan, Kia, and Jeep sold more vehicles than Tesla last year. I didn't bother looking at GM and Ford numbers. I don't know if brand loyalty is a metric worth paying attention to when it comes to auto sales. I haven't purchased a Toyota since 2012 myself, and that hasn't had much of an impact on Toyota sales.

Solid point. My wife and I have bought 3 since 2008 in total..though she already had a 96 Tacoma prior to that.

The numbers are in. Tesla sales are way up q2 23 over q2 22 Tesla's worse year since the Tesla boom began. Tesla has slashed prices world wide, and are lossing ground in the global EV market to rivals. The majority of q2 deliveries probably took place in those markets. If Tesla is selling vehicles at a loss of revenue, and not dominating EV sales outside of the US where EV have greater sales volume, are all of these deliveries good for Tesla? Tesla is still ramping up production, but will Tesla continue to lose market share?

Lol it will cost more than that once they are developed purchased and installed. Pretty sure they already exist in some locations, and could stop an EV. Maybe stronger and more compact is what they are going for. Another unforeseen expense to going electric.

It costs a million dollars per day to park a aircraft carrier in the gulf and keep the oil flowing. Another unforseen expense of oil dependency

Like AK? Give me a break, any scientists that aren't funded by big oil estimate there's enough crude up there to meet US demand for maybe 12 months. It's a drop in the bucket

Russia has plenty of oil. I'm not suggesting cutting ties with our friends in the gulf there's a lot invested there already.

You started talking about air craft cariers, as if it had something to do with automated pollard development. That just happened to be a strange thing, and an unforeseen side effect of new vehicle technology. That the people who's responsibility is to keep military assets secure. That now needs funding.

No. I don't object to the cost of the program, it happens to be kind of silly that EV is why government has to spend more money on security.

It's just interesting to see how selective people are when it comes to bitching about where their tax dollars are going
