Just pulled a tick off me this morning: it must’ve crawled off the dog. I didn’t get a very good pic so now I’m wishing I’d kept it in case it needed to be tested. Who just walks around with ziploc bags though?

Damn those loaves would be perfect for a Puerto Rican style sandwich.

I don't think I'm making anything anytime soon other than maybe zucchini or banana bread. I'll tag you when I do.

As for the pans, I meant I've been meaning to make pullman bread. Just get those random moments where I want a damn PB&J and bam...no bread :annoyed: I'm notorious for forgetting we have bread at home only for it to go bad and toss it. Need to make my own.

I don’t really feel it, but it’s just a waiting game to see if I get any fun diseases like RMSF or Lyme

TBF my truck is in pretty solid condition for the year. I don’t think it’s been off roaded much at all either.

I'm about to run up to work and get some ham + fresh pickles to make a sandwich with that Cuban bread..
Sometimes we all band together - I make the bread, Nick makes some roasted pork and Sam assembles/presses it all into a super good Cuban sandwich - the crust is so thin but crisps up so well..

What is a Puerto Rican style sandwich?
best have pork on it ;)
I finally learned how to make perfect maduros - so fucking good -

re: pullman - I hear you on that - just haven't gotten there yet

I usually keep a store loaf in the freezer for 'emergency' sandwich needs - mostly for grilled cheese - it keeps pretty good in there and even with some frost bite, pop it in the toaster and it comes back to life good enough..

Ticks are the worst - if I ever got that disease where you can't eat meat, just shoot me now..
Mosquitos are a close second - they mostly annoy me - but if I ever got some whack disease from em..

Right now it is the horse flys and the smaller horse fly like fucks - they keep biting me/tryin to and they fucking HURT..

Main ingredient in a Rican sandwich are smashed and fried plantains, sooo good cause they add just the right amount of natural sweetness versus dousing the thing in sauce.

But yeah pretty much the same as maduros; we call them tostones and they're twice fried and gooood AF  dad used to make them for me all the time when I was a kid.

@CS_AR is pretty well versed in that stuff as well; I know the dishes myself but don't cook any. Maybe I should change that. But yeah just minor differences from a Rican dish to one from Honduras or Cuba. Still good cause we don't do spicy stuff which I never grew up with.

Ok so y'all have a real issue out there with ticks then?

@Ozark_RegCab those things are a bigger threat than mosquitos?

Depending where you live out here, you get those same 'horse flies' which we just call them biting flies.

Get *some* mosquitos too, but what I hate most are the little fruit flies or gnats during sunset. Can't work in the garage with the door open once the sun sets cause all those fuckers come right in.

Yea ticks are probably the most dangerous thing there is out in the woods here. RMSF can be deadly if not treated within the first few days if symptoms.
