You haven't even had any of my pastries!

Should've seen all the cake pops I threw away; made those from devil's food cake (all from scratch).

Ticks here aren't too bad - but I also stay out of the woods mostly, my dog takes the tick/flea drugs, I keep the grass cut and if I start finding em in my grass - I bomb the shit out of it with some pesticide.. I fucking HATE ticks.
I read that they have to attach and be on you for 12hr to transmit whatever - not trying to find that out the hard way..

I mostly have to deal with biting flies - they hurt when they bite ya
We also have horse flies - much bigger, much more painful, leaves a huge welt when they get you..

I can still work in the garage at night - bug seem to go to the light bulbs on the ceiling and leave me be - but when I am done, I gotta turn off the lights, leave the door open and turn on the lights outside for like 20min - so I can get em all outta there - PITA -

I got a new co/worker awhile back - he drives a van - when he told me this, I asked him if it was a 'kidnapper van'
    He died laughing

Only thing that's worse right now is the damn heat :bananadead:

I got these lights they sell at Home Depot which are perfect for the small stuff -

    20230705_093759.jpg

But yeah lights do keep them away from you and focused on them unless you have a lot of lights then it just attracts a whole mob :bananadead:

I do welcome all the lizards we get, keeps other bug populations down for sure -

Maybe this is why the flies in our backyard have gotten so bad lately, Dex has chased all the lizards away

I got some of those outdoor fly traps from Home Depot that work well but they start to stink after a few days, seems with flies there's not really any kind of deterrent, just catch/kill. A never-ending war

we do have ticks out here but they aren't nearly as common as other parts of the country, when I was a kid in TX I got a big ol' tick stuck in my scalp and the doctor had to freeze it and pull it out with pliers lol.

Oh dude you have to keep the lizards; we have so many but not in an invasive manner either.

They're on our walls of the house, and in many of the shaded areas throughout; I move a garbage can and one or two run out from underneath.

Completely harmless and want nothing to do with you other than to eat your bugs/pests.

What trap you using? I just switched out the glue on one last night and already got these -

    20230705_094628.jpg

Even with a handful in there they never let out any odor.

I need to get some of those for inside, the ones we have are for outside...it's this bag of dried fly bait that you add water to, then hang it up outside...flies are drawn to it and get trapped in the bag and die. After a couple days it already had hundreds of flies in it, but it starts to reek

    Ahh those, yeah.

Was just talking about getting one or two of those tikki style to light up in the afternoons/evenings so they stay away from the patio door when we let Bronx and Biscuit in and out.

That's good, you can't trust a person that drives a van and can't laugh at kidnapping jokes.

Reminds me of my favorite van quote.. in the cartoon American Dad! The daughters degenerate boyfriend lives in his van. One episode, the daughter becomes a stripper and the dad and boyfriend team up to "save her" the boyfriend says "2 of my old girlfriends were strippers and they went missing. The police automatically thought it was me cause I have a van... and that's profiling man!"

    @Kwikvette @eon_blue

Can Californians register with a car salvage company like Copart to bid and buy from auctions? Some vehicles may be damaged from wrecks and others may be abandoned or vehicles being sold at auction as a result of penalty.

You can easily obtain a license or whatever it was for buying from auction.

That or become friends with someone at a dealership to get a vehicle for you. A franchise dealer may have a used car manager that'll be too busy to do that for you but small, used car dealers won't have an issue I don't think.

Adesa Golden Gate is a big one where nicer trade ins get sold, not to mention Enterprise and other big companies have their own lanes of vehicles to choose from.

I'd think with Copart you wouldn't need anything though; example I explained above was if you yourself were buying it out here.
