Picked up my first real piece. Was debating this for a couple years now- always just wore my $300 Seiko diver my wife gave me a few years ago for Christmas. Found a smoking deal and thought I’d get it out of my system. Tudor BB58 on a genuine Tudor Ranger bracelet with micro adjustment. F4E25E92-D693-43D9-9ACC-0033AF68C306.jpg

Redid my first Seiko mod with a new unblemished dial and the correct hands. All done now.

A Zeno diver I picked up back in the late 90's, heavily domed acrylic crystal, ETA 2846 mvt, wasnt expensive then, had the movt serviced and the hands re-lumed by Industrial Watch Works (now International Watch Works) long enough ago that the movt cost $90 to service and the hands were $35.

With my line of work and just the durability, I'll never go to another watch.

I just cant read them easily, the downside of outliving 20/20 vision. I'm pretty much sold on quartz these days.

For me, it's like a car with digital speedometer. I have to read it to tell the speed, with an hour and a minute hand, I can just glance and tell the time. Wearing progressive lens means I have to turn my head just right to read it, I cant move my eyes, I have to move my head. My watch can be blurry, and I can still tell time. Though some watches after dark with minute and hour hands too similar can make it hard to tell if its 2:20 or 4:10.

My Tudor is so old. I bet it’s 25 years now. I have sent it back to the factory twice for clean/tune. The last time they wanted to change the bracelet (for $900). I denied the work. They would have installed a new version.

I might send the bracelet in to get freshened up at a Rolex shop recommended to me, but for now it’s still okay. The tuneups are getting expensive. Way more than what I paid for the watch.

6 months or so with the Hammy field 38mm. Work in biotech so she sits under a lab coat for most of the day. Here she is surfing the web with me at my desk. First mechanical and I love it.

My brothers watch dealer said the old Tudor subs are worth a lot because there are no new ones.

Used to be the Tudor sub was a more “affordable” alternative to the Rolex sub, I guess they didn’t want that anymore.

They have the Pelagos, but I don’t think that is as iconic of a watch because of the multiple intentional design differences to set it apart.

First TAG, a Formula 1. Was able to get from a great fellow GA forum member.. Good size and like the simplicity. Similar look to my Citizen Eco Drive. Happens to go well with the 'ole ring too.

Wearing a Berny quartz titanium... Swapped the titanium band for a silicone one... Super light. Wish it had more wr but not likely on a watch of this size...
