Damn, I'll have to snap a picture of mine. 10 years old and the paint isn't even started peeling yet.

So I think the right question is, but do you go nuts with your truck like Drew does?

Hell no, mines a pavement princess, mall crawler extraordinaire, heavy duty grocery getter. Its existence is only justified by its duties towing the camper. I’m still surprised the finish is in tact though just due to the amount of salt and general debris they’ve seen over 10 years exposed on the front of the truck.

Anyone ever try this campground on Mount Desert Island: http://www.thebarharborcampground.com/campsites.html ?

I booked the NPS Blackwoods campground for a week in August, but may ditch it in favor of the above campground since they have showers, pool, kids stuff etc...

A commercial campground like the one above will make the Mrs. happier than the more rustic NPS site.

Never been but MDI basically exists to support retired tourists. It'll be far more comfortable there

I haven’t stayed there but I have at Blackwoods and it has basically zero amenities except toilets and sinks. Pay showers are at at a private place outside of the campground. The sites are wooded and spread out though which is nice. You can also walk to the cliffs/ocean.

We stayed at Seawall last summer, but really didn't spend much time there. I know Blackwoods I'd the same. But I figured I'd at least have a guaranteed spot at the NPS campground and try that place if I can get in.

Which one of you Ford mod guys is this? Mass Pike & 495 last night. Those FX4 suspensions on the F350 must be something for that weight…

Not me! But yes, the suspension is stout. I think the 350 has 5 - 1/2 inch leafs plus the overload. He's likely not even overloaded with that setup.

He was moving with that weight too. From 90E to 495S, he took off faster than the car.

The modern diesels, from any of the big 3, are impressive. 500hp, 1,000 ft-lb of torque, they have some serious umph under the hood! They're fun to drive

For those of you who were asking about camping places….. I’m going to say don’t bother with Danforth bay in Freedom NH. Been going there for about 12 years now and it seems like every year it’s a new problem. From over booking to pricing more than doubling. This might be the last year we go after the BS they just pulled on my daughter and some good friends that have been going longer than us

I agree with John, plus the location is amazing.

If the family’s happier.. you will be happier.

Anyone got tips for the daks? My friend lives in Burlington so I’m gonna come up to him end of the month if its not 90+ During the day and 80 at night lol.

Apparently there’s dispersed camping a plenty, not much listed on iOverlander though
