I dunno what that is...but I can prolly successfully argue that someone at sometime has dried it out and smoked it.

I think it might be some type of stinkhorn mushroom. I get them in my yard here in MA sometimes but they have just one horn/ finger.

Grew up in the country with all kinds of animals. Use to see them all the time. Haven’t seen one in ages. We called them tumble bugs

Our red subject in the foreground is a Studebaker M Series built between 1940-48, the long chassis, dual rear wheels, rooftop clearance lights and drum style fender directional lights suggest this is the largest M16 model rated at 1-1/2 to 2 tons.

Notice the cab is unusually aerodynamic for 1940 and included door vent windows - not on the Ford trucks until 1948 and Chev in 1951.
The engine was a Studebaker "Commander" 226 cubic inch flat head 6 cylinder.

    1948_studebaker_m16-52_a6a770a9-f485-41c9-a440-d0b4afc1bf48-80769.jpg

The blue subject in the background is another Studebaker, a model 2R built between 1948-53 notice the shorter wheelbase with the very long bed overhang in the rear.
The 2R was available as a pickup up to a 2 ton model.

Speaking of pickups the 2R introduced an innovation that is common now - the double wall cargo box designed to keep the exterior sheet metal dent free from shifting cargo.
