This particular dirt road is very mountainous, so rutted and rocky. Only fast flybys today were a few dirt bikes coming in opposite directions, a few vehicles as well in opposite direction, but slow. Cars/trucks cant go much faster than me - going up, I actually had a number of vehicles let me pass them because they could see I was right behind them. Coming down, no vehicles passed me.

Now yesterday, the section of gravel road my wife and I road, we had a few cars pass us, but they were respectful and slowed down. But, again, not the smooth gravel roads since it’s up in the mountains.

That’s good to hear! I always am blown away how fast people will blow past you not realizing the are leaving you gasping for air in a cloud of dirt.

Any CO guys have some recommendations for me? Thinking I'll be out that way right around the August 2. I'll have my gravel bike b/c I'm coming straight from Ragbrai.
Was thinking of some mountain biking but not sure I'm comfortable leaving my bike in the truck unattended for a full week in Iowa. So might have to stick to some scenic gravel rides.

Trying to piece together an itinerary now. I have an open book. Figure I'd stay for about 7 or 8 days. Maybe camp in the Golden Gate Canyon area. I wanna hit some Rocky Mountain NP if I can get an entrance ticket and hike around for a day or two. Might shoot over to the South Rim of Black Canyon of Gunnison for another 2 days. But other than that, yea...some good riding, beer and food :) Open to ride w/ anyone out that way too if you're interested.

The tan seat is the piece that really ties it together!

I actually got lucky with that saddle. I only run SLR's because of my butt shape and someone on eBay was selling a re-covered an SLR in tan (that was picked up from an estate sale). I've recovered a few saddles before and it's actually pretty dang easy (basically use 3m adhesive plus some thin marine grade vinyl).

Finally finished the bike! NS frame, mavic xa light rims, rs 35 fork, nx rear der., gx front shifter, fox transition dropper. It was fun to put together. Most of the parts were gifted to me so total in was about 700.00.

If that’s a boost 12x148 rear and that’s a good deal. Most bikes under $1000 seem to always be QR

If she spent some significant time out there I bet I know people that went to school with her or at least know her family! That place is amazing.

It is boost. It is a fun bike. My first 29. I have been riding 27.5 vitus nucleus vrs for about 5 years. May make the nucleus a mullet.
