Saw an ad for this module that plugs in to the OBD port and SUPPOSEDLY increases performance and mileage. I'm VERY skeptical as in the end, the ECU already tries to maintain the ideal stoichiometric ratio at all times, plus in order for something like this to work, it would require at least some bi-directional control/tuning.

Has anyone tried it? It's made in the USA.

    Snake oil LOL

Edit: But if anyone wants to donate $75 to these scammers and actually does get +9 MPGs let us know, that would be amazing.

What should I expect after installation?
    - Up to +35 Horsepower increase
    - Up to +40 ft/Lbs Torque increase
    - Up to +9 MPG Increase

Any time it says 'up to', than means from 0 to up to. Meaning you're more likely to get 0.

And all the following depends on the 'up to' success rate. And if you'll note, some of those are conflicting points.

    - Increased Horsepower & Torque thru the entire rpm range
    - Improved Towing Ability
    - Improved Passing and Climbing Ability
    - Sharper Throttle Response
    - Increased Fuel Economy
    - Faster Off-The-Line Acceleration
    - Street Legal Worldwide
    - Saves MONEY Every Time You Fill Up Your Tank

LOL - no, not planning to put money down on it - as I said, I'm VERY skeptical of the claim(s), but was curious if anyone HAS tried it. I just don't see how this would be of benefit. Maybe if someone modded their engine, but did so haphazardly, it COULD help, but even then, the ECU would already be at least trying to compensate (at least to a certain point).

Your bare profile does not tell us your year of truck. There are legit tunes available if you actually want to improve things. But it's more than a PnP black box.

No - not trying to tune anything. I'm satisfied with stock for EVERYTHING - well, since mine is a base, I did add cruise and intermittent wipers myself, but manual door locks and crank windows still there...

I'm laughing because I am one of those who tried one of these plug-in tunes. Not on my 2020 OR but on another truck I had before. It wasn't this brand but similar. Did it do anything? I don't know. Truck seemed to have more torque & power, especially when passing, but that might have been all mental. I would never buy any again. I had a real tune done on my current OR. Only way to go with a tune.

Sounds exactly like the Fuel Line Magnets JC Whitney used to offer. They promised to "Realign the fuel molecules" to do all that and more. The sad part is, many, many people fall for this crap.

Some of these just prevent your throttle input from going to the max (like it cuts off input at 80%). Boom! gas savings!

Too bad MythBusters no longer exist. Maybe someone could get a YouTuber to "test" it - problem being a lot of YTs don't have the wherewithal to do accurate, scientific, reproducible testing the way MythBusters did.

ProjectFarm would do a good job but his time is honestly better spent on testing real differences in legit products.. since we know these gas saver devices are always scams.

Test what? Buy one, open it up and report what kind of "chip" is inside.

Spoiler - there's no "chip" inside.....
