What bearings are you talking? Pulley bearings?

I have never personally replaced bearings on my truck yet.

not stock on the tpms, and changing tires soon. but why no track control choices? do the tpms control everything?

Tpms does nothing on my truck but put the little light on the dash when the tires are low or the batteries are dead (in my case). It doesn't seem to interact with anything else in my experience.

Front wheel hub bearing assembly, looks like best ones are sold here buy a member but on pricey side. From what I gathered, he puts a Honda bearing in the Toyota hub for you. I guess if you don’t want to do it twice it’ll make sense. $$$, but it seems like it’s worth it. Only thing is it’s basically the same as the AutoZone one which is $187 apiece only at AutoZone they have lifetime guarantee and you can bring it back anywhere in the country. If you like to work on your truck, that makes more sense.

These newer gen vehicles are weird. One fault error can trigger various other false faults in other controllers. It's a CAN communication thing, as they all rely on each other to be fault free and communicating properly in order for all of the modules to work properly.

Example: check engine lights trip off VSC and TRAC program. This particular instance makes sense because if the engine is not running right it cannot properly control VSC and traction and may actually cause a more dangerous driving situation if it stays on vs. just faulting it all across the board until the running condition is rectified.

As for your TPMS/ TRAC issue it may be entirely unrelated, or it may be a situation where certain models (Mexico built vs. Texas built) operate differently based on their programmed parameters depending where they were geographically built. Until you get access to a scan tool capable of manufacturer specific information and not just global generic OBD2 communications, it's all just speculation.

I wish I had a better answer for you brother, but at this time I do not because of the lack of information.

Have you thought about disabling your TPMS? I have a 2015 as well, mine is an SR5 not OR.

Using info from a thread on here, I successfully disabled my TPMS, with no apparent change in the driving characteristics of the truck.

Now, my traction control (unwanted braking) kicks in sometimes on the twisties in the mountains - I disable that with my ABS kill switch (also from a thread here.)

Just getting ready to ship out the upgraded SC tensioner studs, the shop made me an extra 4 sets... so let me know if anyone is interested, I can get them shipped out at the same time and save you a bit of shipping costs.

Thanks everyone for participating, you'll see your studs very soon.

Could pull the abs fuse. I would pull that on my master cylinder on my 4runner at the race track so the safety systems wouldn't interfere with my driving

ive had that problem in past too. just dont understand why tpms sensors affect the abs traction control. im due for tires soon so hoping it gets worked out then.

So your abs light never comes on? Did you try pulling the abs relay like @Lucario Runner mentioned to see if that turns the light on and disables traction control? Be a good test to try.

If that disables it possibly the traction disable switch is faulty and maybe you can jumper pins/terminals on the plug or switch to confirm that.

I would guess that when TPMS is working properly, if it sees a tire with low pressure, it knows that the effective diameter is smaller, but not sure by how much, so it can’t properly compare the values of the ABS sensors to each other to know if one or more wheels are locking up while braking. So it would make sense that it would disable ABS in this case.

So if there is a general TPMS system fault, I wouldn’t be surprised if the ABS is deactivated for the same reason.

I have a friend who has done programming for Daimler and he explained that there are more signals than wires so they use single wires for multiple signal messages. A failing sensor or missing signal of one type 'could' send incorrect voltage and overlaps or repeats can mean different things. Sometimes ECM looks for signals of different voltage ranges all at same time. ECM can read messages from Sensor A 0.4-1.0V Sensor B 3.5-5.5V and sensor C 10-12V all on same wire but if those operating voltage ranges start to overlap there could be false errors. Not sure exactly how the ECM manages it all but that's my basic understanding. Struggles of standardization and then add on requirements for more emissions etc getting crammed onto existing platforms doesn't help.
