Anyone know where to get an alignment? I'm at Limbaugh Toyota and they don't seem to understand suspension geometry on a lifted vehicle...

I should add... "a proper alignment."

I'm frustrated. Guy told me he couldn't give me a printout b/c "the printer is broken."

They asked why I was getting it aligned, which way it was pulling. I said "well, it's not really pulling, but I lifted it and I need it back to factory spec. If you can't get it back to factory, I want a printout showing how off it is. I need to know if I need to get different parts."

I gave them the instruction sheet that came with the UCA showing the caster and camber adjustment, and the guy looked at me like I had a third arm or something when I was explaining the caster adjustment.

They let me take a picture of the screen, but it only showed toe and camber, no caster.

    Ugh...

Right on. I'll give them a yell. I'm in Birmingham.

They just came and got me and "Can't get the caster right." They're trying to adjust it with the eccentric fittings on the LCA, after I showed them the UCA adjustment. I'm just going to take it with the camber corrected and go somewhere else. This is ridiculous.

Not sure, but we will definitely try. Having dinner with my brother and mother, but should be back well enough to go. I've got to start packing soon, so that is the real question.

At least you know they don't know WTF they are doing. I think I would have tried to back out at that point.

Yeah... In retrospect I should have smelled trouble at that point. They flubbed everything, truck pulls worse than it did before I took it in. I'm going to find somewhere else tomorrow. I've heard that Melton Automotive down in Alabaster does good work. I'm going to give them a call in the morning.

Truck was back there for 2 hours, and the guy said, "well, we'll charge you $49 for the time, instead of the full $80 for the alignment."

Anyway, chalk it up to learning. Dealers don't do alignments with aftermarket UCA's.

If you don't have any luck in Alabaster, give SAAB Tire a try. They are on Aiport Blvd close to the Red Mountain Expressway. I let them balance my new wheels and tires and I have never seen a tire place be so careful with my vehicle.

I talked to the guys at Southern Offroad this afternoon. They explained their alignment procedure in depth, knew exactly what I was talking about with the UCA's, and generally seemed to know what they were talking about. I'm going to take it in Monday morning to get it done.

    Thanks for the pointer.

I plan to have one for the end of April or beginning of May. Kyle suggested we may have it at the offroad shop in Morgan City. Either way, I plan to have something.

I'll have my satoshi, icon's and still need to put in the plugs I was going to do last time.

Well i talked to Jason at Victory's ATV and Off-road and he said he wouldn't mind at all if we had a mod meet barbecue at his shop towards the beginning of May. Of course bring your own tools to work on your stuff but the heavier equipment (impact wrench, lift, air tools, etc..) I'm sure he wouldn't mind us using. But it's up to you guys. It'd be fun just to hang out like last time but this time we'd have a little more to do and a few extra hands.

Also, Judd and Jim i appreciate you guys coming by last night! I hope ya'll had fun cause boy i know i sure did!
