Flying North!

Been seeing a lot of ducks and geese flying back north. the temps are getting warmer and breeding season is also getting closer. one of my favorite times of year . any one else seeing any migrators headed north?

 

Well today was about 63,can't what till summer. I hate winter.

 

im the oppisite. i love the cold, summer is ok, but nothing like putting a shit ton of warm clothes on and sitting along a fence row when its 5 degrees outside calling for coyotes or sitting in a layout blind calling for ducks and geese. plus its awsome scenery. guess id rather be cold than hot.

 

Must be I didn't kill enough of them while they were down here...Oh well, next season.

 

Tons. I haven't gotten into geese yet, but I hunt ducks every chance I get. Grew up 30 miles from the best duck hunting in the state and never took advantage. Now I have to drive 2 hours to go there but I still make the trip often in Nov/Dec.

Turkey season starts in a month. I'll be trying to not get shot on public land and still loving every minute of it.

 

that sucks you never took advantage of it. what part of missouri are you from? my truck came from st. roberts, missouri. im from iowa city, iowa. i have a feww fields i have permission to hunt and it gets pretty awsome (as you can see in the pics from my profile.) turkey hunting is fun too! public land really isnt all that bad to hunt if you know the land you are hunting. you can really have good success if do some good scouting. you have to watch for the dumb asses that walk in on ya. good luck to you this season. what season do you usually go? We have Spring and Fall seasons for turkeys. Spring is a lot more fun since the toms are gobbling and strutting. I'm from central MO - Grand Pass conservation area was the hunting I was referring to. Maybe some of the bootheel timber hunting challenges it for the best hunting in the state, but there are a lot of guys who drive hours from St Louis or KC to sit in the poor line and take a chance at getting a spot. It holds 200,000+ ducks at the peak of the season and that is an awful lot for around here.

 

hells yeah it is. dont think that we ever have that much in our state at once. i think the most we have ever had in our honey hole for ducks is like 15,000 (thats the most that ive ever seen) take some pics with ya when you go turkeying. gooder luck man!
