    Hi all,
Great forum, and my first post.

I’m actually searching to find a decent regular cab/5-speed first Gen Tacoma in my area, and will inspect this ‘94 tomorrow.

curious if these seats are original, and if a bench seat will retrofit in any case; do all trucks have seat belt anchors for the middle seat?

    Thanks,
    Marc

FYI a 1994 is not a first gen Tacoma.

    First gen Tacomas are 1995.5 - 2004.

To answer your questions though, any seat from a 89-94 (last gen) Pickup or 2nd Gen 4Runner would bolt right in to that truck. That truck looks like a SR5 model based on those seats and the tach gauge, so they likely are original to that vehicle.

Also, just because it's not a Taco doesn't mean it's a bad truck. That last gen Pickup was solid, especially the 4-cylinder 22RE models. I drove a '91 for 11 years before I totalled it and got my Tacoma. If the price was right, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Thanks for the help; just got the bug for one of these trucks recently, and still absorbing data.

I’m also looking at a ‘92 reg cab model that has a much plainer dash…is it feasible to swap in the speedo/tach cluster?

Most of the time. They started switching from a mechanical to digital speedo in 93 I think (might be wrong about the year), and not every truck had a wiring harness for the tach, it seemed to be luck of the draw if you wanted to do the upgrade. You can find conversion kits for both out there though.
