Fluid film looks good but they do recommend using a standard airless paint spraying equipment to deliver it as a mist.

    https://www.fluid-film.com/spraying-fluid-film/

Reading more about it it would probably be my choice if krown/rust check wasn't available and there was a shop that could apply it.

Lots of good choices. And if your experience like mine is that whatever you use works then stick with it.

Found a place in Ontario that uses fluid film

Northern Rust Control 58 Derland Rd. Corbeil ON P0H 1K0
But its a 3 hr drive...... from my place :-(

I don't have any fluid film available. If you have some could you see if it floats on water or sinks. Most oils even crude oil are less dense than water and float.

This product is highest rated by the Canadian military in tests they performed.
I’m trying it on a test area on our new truck ,I’m also using Cosmoline on the rest of the truck.
It will probably turn out that no matter what product a person uses it’s going to be a lot better than not doing anything.

And it all comes down to the quality of the application. Canadian tire advertises corrosion free but I wouldn't trust them to put air in my tires let alone apply rust proofing. I had my mothers car in there for front and rear brake work so all tires where off. I asked them if they could also rotate the tires when they were done. They told me that would cost extra. I flat out told them no it won't since tires are already off the car and you just have to put them back on in a different order.

Been a while since I have seen Cosmoline. Some WWII surplus vintage rifles I have where full of this stuff. You have to totally strip it down and clean it before you use them.

Been using Corrosion Free for 12 years on my 2011 Tacoma. Live in eastern Canada (rust belt) and chassis is holding real well. Truck was at dealer last year for chassis rust recall inspection and passed. Many chassis being replaced here due to rust.

Rp-342 cosmoline is a thinned down version of the cosmoline used in the military. It's made to seep into all the tight crevices before setting up. You still need some mineral spirits or paint thinner on a rag to wipe it off once it has dried. It remains a semi-hard waxy finish once it cures.

Krown for the win too. We have a Canadian Forces Base ( CFB Petawawa ) near here and I have seen the vehicles getting the Krown treatment at the same place that I get mine done. So it is good stuff. just saying

We've had my wife's CR-V done with Krown here in the middle of the US for over a year now, and have been very happy.
Now that my DCLB has the lift and news leafs on, I'm seriously considering getting my truck Krowned.

Whatever you do, don’t go to Ziebart to get the rust prevention done.

I used Cosmoline on this truck. It hasn't been through a winter yet, so I can't say how well it works. On previous vehicles I have used Krown, good overall experience with the product and no rust issues, but had some door seals and other wind lacing swell. That is what made me look to alternatives. Fluid film and Rust Check Green make a mess that I'd rather not deal with.

If you did two good coats, this stuff holds up way better than fluid flim. My trucks been through at least 2/12 real slushy salty winters. So far 95% of the cosmoline rp-342 is still on the truck. Its only in the high abrasion areas of the rear leafs/wheel wells that needed some 5 minute minor touchups.

Awesome to hear that! A minor touch-up while doing the seasonal brake service makes it a great decision to use Cosmoline! I'm in southern Ontario so, they pave the roads with salt and brine here. I will certainly find out how well it works.

No rubberized undercoating because it gets cracks and traps moisture behind it. No Zebart or Tar.

Use Fluid film, wool wax or surface shield. Some like Cosmoline because it doesn't need a reapply every year.

I did my 2020 SR5 4x4 with 6cans of FF before the first winter and did a 3 can touch up before each winter since. Every part of the under side that was back is still black there is even not .uch rust on exposed unpainted parts that got hit with it.
I even spray in the rocker panels and in the doors.
The down side is doing it over year and it smells for a few days.

I've heard from old farmers and mechanics that they would spray kerosene or diesel on everything under the body once a year, let it dry and then bomb down dusty roads
Sounded dangerous but apparently non issue do to low flash point of both
    Anyone here tried that?

Haha - I actually just posted this same type of thing this morning in the Vermonters thread talking about my 'yesterday-new' truck before seeing this thread>>>

" I myself will be renting an open top cargo box and a crane, dipping the new truck up to the windows in the big vat of fluid film. That
    ought to coat "everything"!"

Not really an environmentalist-but this method seems not really conducive to environmental protection.
In addition, the time that method was used, the basic material the vehicles were made of was just better, the manufacturing more solid. I don't believe one can compare results of that method used then and used now.
