Double the budget, and get something with easy to find consumables that don't cost an arm and a leg.

I got a plasma cutter a year and a half ago cause I didn't want to be a Neanderthal using an angle grinder and cut off wheels to cut steel.

Several times a year turned to many times a month only to turn into a CNC plasma table that makes me money now.

You don't realize just how convenient having one is until you have one.

Spend the money, quit spending hours and tons of wheels (along with hurting your hands) and get yourself a plasma cutter.

Aluminum tig welding…as that OP said he intended….

There’s some ways to maybe get it to work on DC with helium but…that’s adding another tank, and helium isn’t cheap. Even then it’s not a pretty weld, and you’ll be chasing the puddle.

The industry standard is AC for tig welding aluminum.

Just what kind of Aluminum .

I have seen people try and Tig weld 3/8" aluminum with a 200 amp machine.

Not knowing just what one is doing where do you draw the line between using Tig or Mig?

Even more interesting is if you never used either process before.

The real fun is trying to get weather exposed Aluminum clean doing work on Aluminum dump Bodies.

Moot point just trying to help a new to welding person.

I weld aluminum every day. Prefer tig over Mig but we’re 99.9% spool gun for volume.

At home I tig more than Mig. Better money in stick and tig if you’re willing to travel.

I have an even more boring project in progress too. It's a clothes rod for a laundry room my cousin asked to whip up for her. I don't how have the mounting plates yet so I haven't welded anything up. What was a little interesting was picking up the steel with my car haha.

My method using the Celica was on a diagonal out the passenger window and the left corner of the trunk .

10' foot pieces fit at times I most likely hauled a few hundred pounds 2 ratchet straps as chokers never moved .

    Extra 3/16" scrap?

Easy, make gussets or shock tabs before tossing it away.

    Extra 1/4" scrap?

Make motor mount ears or whatever other small parts of an assembly.

    Extra 12 gauge scrap?

    F bombs :argue:

    No not those type, these

I've grown accustomed to canned beer purely because of storage reasons lol

So, I haven't decided but I'll put it out here to see if it's fair what I'm thinking -

In person, I'd sell them for $10 each.

Shipping them I do have small thick envelopes where I'd put a max of maybe 3 (due to fear of edges cutting through the envelope, let's hear your thoughts.

    20230707_141721.jpg

    Selling 1, $12 shipped.

Selling 3, I'd think maybe $25 shipped (bulk discount).

Selling 5, I'd throw them in a USPS flat rate for $40 shipped (it's like $10 for that small box shipped).

More than that well, I'd say $5 per each one after 5 to fit as many as I can in said box.

Before committing though, I'd need to look into opening a few more bottles and seeing if I need to modify the opener to better grab the bottle cap.

Opened my Mexican coke just fine but I've yet to try the rest. I had to turn it over as one edge was sharper than the other if that makes sense.

So I tried two more bottles and they're a no-go.

Need to bevel the part that flips the bottle cap and in order to do that properly, I need one of those narrow belt sanders.

Thinking I'll grab one at Harbor Freight tomorrow so I can knock out the first few that are sold already and get the rest done afterward. I used 12 gauge steel as I wanted something that won't bend easily, but it's too thick to get under the bottle cap.

Went to the kitchen to check my other openers and all of them have that bevel.
