I think most of this assessment is pretty accurate. One thing thought to bear in mind is the improvements in suspension technology. I don't care how much HP you can produce if you can't get it to the pavement. Transmission technology too. An old 3 speed Torqueflight is no match for the modern 6-7-8 speed automatics. I do have to wonder though about the rear ends, I still think the old Dana 60 or Ford 9 inch units can withstand more HP and more launches than the newer stuff.

Good morning and happy Friday to all. Cut my grass last night after work and it was brutal. Stopped about every 6-8 passes to drink water. Supposed to have spotty showers later today but I took my chances and rode the bike to work anyway. Riding in the rain at 80 ish degrees still sucks but nothing like riding in the rain at 50 degrees.

Do you think we worry about stuff like that? I think not.

    Morning
    140° track temp today.
Going to be bad for car and driver.
Caution is the name of the game.
Wish we had the Hoosiers mounted as they are a harder compound and will be better for the high track temp. Oh well. First out at 10:30. Oh Boy

Good morning all, have a great day!

Going to a baseball game tonight should be fun. It's a semi pro team, we go a couple times a year to. But tonight I'm helping present colors before the game. The bishop of the church has a family night at the game to honor the kids who alter serve. The Knight's of Columbus presents the flags and some of the councils buy the tickets for the kids of their parish.

I like some of the talk about hi performance cars of the past and today. I have to say I agree that some of the modern cars are faster but with the upgrades in tires and suspension they also probably handle better. I think all of us were around when radial tires first started, becoming used. I bought a new Chey pickup in '76 first new car I ever purchased.it came with bias plys. I remember them talking in the news about problems the highway patrols were having with the radial tires not holding up to hi speeds at first. When I put some M50's on the back of the truck I discovered it hydroplaned like crazy. Now half the new cars have 55's

Stay safe, you've been doing this for a while but it's always good to be aware of the conditions of the track

Always more satisfying when we make the old cars beat the newer cars.

    Kind like
    “Here, take that modern technology”

I don't believe his last sentence is at all political. If that was the case, me having GBA in my signature would be bannable. Thanks for putting out the warning and I hope you are not offended by that.
    Have a good day
