If you go battery, don’t buy the crap at the box stores. Husqvarna has the best battery products out. They are not cheap but, buy once - cry once.

I do agree with this. Im not knocking on battery power, but the greenworks i have access to is not very impressive. Maybe another brand or platform wouldnt be that bad.

Impressive battery life would mean more weight, then people would complain about the weight. How many gas fills does it take to do a big yard, is a battery swap or two that much more inconvienent than a gas fill? Obviously you need more than one battery.

Battery swaps are not bad at all. But that also is assuming you own more than one battery. The 80v 4.0 for the greenworks line are close to $200. Plus the $250 for the trimmer+battery+charger kit. A Stihl FS 56 RC-E is retailing for around $250 also. I think for me the big issue is the ground im covering. If you a .25acre residential lot, battery should work great but A 5+ acre industrial application? Probably not.

I have all of 30 feet currently that needs a weed eater, the rest gets the grass killer. Hopefully in the fall I can plant grass seed for about 1/2acre

Single on Amazon is $174, 2pack at costco for $300. It's a lifestyle change, with any battery ecosystem you will be better off if you broaden your range of tools. You certainly have to commit to battery to do the big jobs, and even on the small jobs more than one battery is a must, but with gas you have to spend gas to go to town to get gas, gas is more expensive than charging a battery or 4, and you can't offset gas with Solar(sure another cost up front).

My lot is fully shaded, I've been trying to grow anything and it just won't. I even tried the trendy Clover lawn... nope hasn't taken off either. Saves on mowing and weedeating time I guess

My little patch of fescue is doing alright. Definitely has a lot of weeds that we are picking and feeding to the chickens.

Have you tried Creeping Red? Its pricey but was developed specifically for shady areas that otherwise wont facilitate growth of other grass species.

Ground bees got me again yesterday. Apparently the 15-20 yellow jacket stings I got in one day last summer made me allergic to bees. I only got 1 or 2 stings yesterday and my hand looks like a Mickey Mouse glove and I feel like trash. I’m burning off my whole property this winter.

I’m going to buy an actual wildland drip torch. I need one for work anyway. Thank you though. I have 5 acres to burn off. I’m gonna break it up into smaller blocks to burn. Hopefully no need for Catfish to come do air drops at my house
