Agreed, but also publishing the locations could be a way of restoring balance to the force.
Example: The FR 9350 camp ground is one of my favorites. Right on the rim overlooking Kohls Ranch and Christopher Creek out East of Payson on the way to Showlow / Heber / Overgard.

It's dispersed camping and people are allowed to be there 14 days IIRC (maybe it's 7 or maybe it has changed since Covid - who knows). But the Massive RV Party Bus Crowd goes up there and sets up camp, and then goes back to Phoenix for the work week, then they come out and spend the weekend. Eventually when their time is up, they swap spots with another camper. So essentially they occupy the whole campground all summer long. And they are only there Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon and just use the campsite to store their RV for 5 days a week.

I get it, a 50 foot RV has certain challenges and when you spend $60k on a rig you want to be able to use it, but public lands are public lands and we need to take that $#!+ back.

Purdy sure Alan is not talking about places easily found on Google Maps, or that have the word 'campground' in their name, or that any sized RV can get to.

He's talking about the actual good stuff.

In the past couple of years I have noticed many campers that leave their rigs for the duration of the summer, the rule is 2 weeks. There is no enforcement. I also see people living in the forest for months. Last year I asked a forest ranger and they said that most of their time is spent chasing down drug deals in the forest. Times are strange.

yeah its 2 weeks up here. They do a pretty decent job of enforcing too. I have even come back from hiking around and found chalk marks on my truck tires.

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
welp - looks like I'll be doing a warranty replacement on the OVS tent in the coming weeks. Put on the new hinge plates, shit's still out of whack.

Fortunately the wife is taking a trip about 20 minutes south of their shop in a couple of weeks with a couple of her girlfriends, so strapping the bad boy down in the bed of her truck and letting it be their problem.

Not many "secret" spots left as the population in this state explodes. Agreed on keeping any of those left off this thread and close to home, so to speak. I am sure that any trips set up here will be well known locations, but still good for local tw members to get together and socialize. The 14-day violators typically will not get addressed unless someone complains so feel free to be the squeaky wheel. I know we like to mind our own business most of the time, but they ruin opportunities for everyone else.

Like, I'm not giving up the coordinates for my spot, but if the stars aligned I could go somewhere else.

Edit: There are 6 elk in that second picture, although 3 were bedded.
