Yes, the 3rd gen is the most popular Tacoma of all time. The most popular midsize truck too. Despite some criticisms the trucks keep selling. Very strong resale, a very capable off road heritage and expected Toyota QDR makes for a winning combination that others are trying to replicate.

I think we are close to 1.8 to 2 million 3rd gens sold to date. It will be interesting to see if the 4th gen one day exceeds 3rd gen sales.

Those discounts are useless as 3 years ago they all had 15-20k on the hood and a lower msrp by around 10k… and yet now people think 5-10k off is a “deal”

Correct. However, the fan club will have you thinking demand is closer to 50%.

Manuals would sell more if they actually had them in stock. I don’t know what that number is but it would be more. Supply and Demand is important but people sometimes settle for an automatic and really want a manual. That kind of stuff as not recorded or noted . The manufacturers only know what is sold and it looks like something is not selling when it really could be .

I was talking about monthly sales that was the numbers I had looked at on Thursday. I looked at Q2 numbers also but I wasn't interested in those. 12,000 units isn't anything for a multi national auto manufacturer. I was surprised to see the jump in Ranger sales between every other month and June. Considering order banks were closed. Ranger numbers will be dismal for every quater and the year.

The only reason I bought the Tacoma was for the manual transmission.
The only other “truck “ available with manual transmission was the Jeep and I’ve already got a wrangler with a manual transmission.
I learned to drive in a manual transmission truck and I wanted the last truck I own to be a manual transmission truck also.
Yes ,I’m a “ vegan” ,after watching the documentary Forks over Knives I figured why not try it for a while, three years later I’m still no meat no dairy.
By not eating meat and dairy I’m off both cholesterol and blood pressure meds.
It may not be for everyone but it worked great for me.

Very true, a friend of mine just bought an automatic tacoma. He could not find a manual anywhere, so he settled. He would have certainly purchased a manual if available.
