    Cool.

That is a pretty steep climb. And no white smoke. Isn't there supposed to be white smoke?

(It is one of the complaints about the 3rd gen).

    Curious about this...

Not only no white smoke, but no front locker. You ain't supposed to do diddly w/o a front locker.

It’s more in off camber situations, like when uphill and leaning hard to the drivers side.

I did some pretty steep climbs, they were short mind you, and I had no issues.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
I see Tacomas with 200,000+ miles on them fairly regularly. It’ll be interesting to see if the new Taco will be able to match that.

The Honda 3.5/6sp drives SO much better than Toyota’s. It’s not even close.

Was going to get a 23...but then found out they don't offer manual TRD OR access cab. Only in Sport. I would never buy a sport, has no off-road capability.

So, I would have to get a double cab for 23. No thanks. Rather get a double cap for 24, because it has more rear leg room for passengers.

Not sure what you mean by a Sport not having any off-road capabilities, but you couldn't be further from the truth.

You realize they are all the same truck right? Just slightly different suspension and wheel options, right? …right???

Why would you be looking at an AC if you need to haul passengers?

Not quite. Sport doesn't have rear locker. Doesn't have MTS, Crawl, etc...

The only reason I'm looking at AC was because the 23 DC has poor rear passenger leg room. The new one seems to improve on that aspect. Of course, 6 foot bed helps a lot as well, but not taking 6 foot bed over manual.

Lockers can be added. MTS and Crawl is for people that don’t know how to wheel…

Gotcha on the AC, so make it worse for passengers, why I bought mine, I don’t have to be back there and don’t like playing taxi, so make it miserable for the people who want a ride. lol!

Crawl Control is useful for controlling steep descents and getting unstuck from things like deep snow and sand. Doesn’t matter what your skill level is, the computer can do things to the wheel spin that you can’t physically do with the pedals.

Also acts like a locker, applies brake to spinning wheel which transfers power to the one that isn't:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKb8jrTbeMk

    Around 8:00 minute mark.

Toyota has had this since 2008. Kinda explains why no rush to get full lockers.

    Well that is no fun!

Having to bust out the shovels and winch line is part of wheeling!

I remember when the 3rd gen came out, all the 2nd gen owners said the same thing... I think it will be time for me to replace my 2007 within the next 10 years. lol I'm sure it will all be fine.

The amount of 3g owner cope in this forum is hilarious.

Yeah because Toyota has never made hybrids, turbo engines, or 8-speeds before.

If my turbo SAAB 9-5 from 20 years ago still runs reliably, these things will be more than fine.
