No challenge in Colorado. The Payne Ridge to Victor to Woolum route requires more 4x4 action. Be sure to stop for a Poser Rock picture on Imogene.

No I was talking about the road to Woolum. We're going to Co the week before Labor Day.

Gotta install RCVs for 31s or else :p

Ive been thinking about how to make RCVs work with manual knuckles and hubs. I think the brass bushing could be machined the few mm for the larger ADD CV size and an 89-95 IFS 27spline locking hub gear would work buuuuut

Interesting, I may want to try that then... I just need a basic ass 480v high wye for the powerpack I make and I wanted to give my customer a 120v plug so they could run a hammer drill or something similar. Wish I could go 240 cause it's so much easier to pull a 120 leg off of it, but I'll just run a step-down trans with the 480 instead

I think I would avoid it and go with a wye

" herein. Zigzag transformers do not see much application in the US. Most engineers are familiar with a zigzag transformer from its application as a ground reference on an ungrounded system. The wye/zigzag transformer is apparently used in some distribution applications due to the lower cost of a high voltage primary wye winding versus a similar voltage delta winding. When the primary is ungrounded wye, the secondary needs to be zigzag in order to remain an effectively grounded secondary. The zigzag winding also is used for obtaining non-standard phase shifts. It is capable of delivering secondary power with 0deg, +/-30deg or +/-60deg phase shifts relative to the primary, depending on primary winding configuration"

Honestly seems like a lot of unnecessary work considering that time and money could be better spent on the crawler.

County Road 14 between Woolum and St Joe has been closed for over a year. County Road 15 from Woolum to Pindall is open.

Since you are coming from the north, Pindall makes more sense.

    shhhhhhh

I think I have something in the works. Think I'm gonna cut down a dodge Dana 60 that's in my buddy's yard by 4" on the long side so it bolts into the front of the crawler then I have a built mini truck axle to do up the Tacoma and keep it on 35s

You must industrialize the Tacoma and bring it into the modern age to compete with the bourgeois western Jeeps!

@Wulf would you say it'd be safe to park at trailheads for a night or two? We were gonna leave the truck overnight at the upper Yankee Boy Basin and Hunchback Pass (off Stony Pass road) trailheads. They're both pretty out of the way, but I had heard of some trailhead breakins/thefts.
