I'll have to visit my metal supplier and see if they have left over scrap stainless steel.

Same guys that let me have left over steel, but I've always asked for mild and never stainless.

Here's the other boring project I was working on for my cousin. Rod to hang Clothes from that will be mounted to the ceiling.

Sad part is, your cousin wouldn't be able to appreciate the fact that it was TIG welded.

This tool made it a quick 5-7 second job

I'll bevel a little less on the remainder, this one was for test purposes so I'll just keep it in the garage.

Is there a cordless version? I've had really good luck with the HF cordless stuff as "disposable" tools. Hell of a lot cheaper then the Yellow or Blue options.

I remember someone posting this here, or in the garage thread - Belt Sander CONVERSION PARTS FOR Milwaukee M12 Cut Off Saw 2522-20, 3/8" x 13" | eBay

Although I think that's not the right kit...I don't recall needing parts from any air grinder or w.e.

Anyway, I only saw a corded version of it but if you want cordless and own the Milwaukee Mini Cut Off tool that's an option.

That or maybe waiting for a promo at Home Depot for the Milwaukee variant - Milwaukee M12 FUEL 12V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 3/8 in. x 13 in. Bandfile (Tool-Only) 2483-20 - The Home Depot

I have that conversion. Didn't use it enough so put the cut off wheel back on.

I knew someone here had it.

HF has a 10% off tools (15% if you're a track member) so I used that when I got it today.

Spent less on the tool itself than the conversion kit.

I really wish I never saw this .

I was doing so good I have this bad habit of buying tools just in case I might need one.

In the past those tool costs were included in job quotes.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I only have one cordless tool and am not sure I'm going to buy more. It's a Milwaukee drill/driver, at least 15 years old. It came with 2 batteries and a charger. Eventually, the batteries started to not hold a charge, so I looked for replacements...nada from Milwaukee. Found some Chinese shit batteries that were pretty expensive, but cheaper than buying a new tool.

My bitch is that the technology changes so often that keeping up costs a fortune, nothing newer is ever backward compatible. Guess I'll keep using corded tools.

My yellow stuff is fantastic and they make an adapter for the new battery to the olde receiver so no complaints. Fuck cords, they're the worst.

When the technology is here for Cordless welding that can reach out 200'

I might think of cordless tools .

Welding cables an air hose or extension cord cordless tools are a pain.

I get the complaints about cordless tools and batteries but, just about all these 18-20v batteries are just a ton of Samsung or Sony 18650's that can easily be replaced.

18650's have been used for a long time and if you really wanted to get into the specs of what are the best ones to buy, etc you can find all that info on candlepower forums.

the benefit to the name brand stuff is that the market is large enough for the little players to justify making adapters.
