You can also see the reflection of the roof line in the driver's side rear window.

It's a simple way to change the color in PS. Choose the current color and select the new color. It's pretty simple. The other tool to show the background is called masking. But even the wheels are suspect but the main giveaway is that the truck isn't in production yet.

There are probably dozens of these in the hands of Toyota employees doing QC. Color swaps and masking with this result is not trivial unless you’re playing with a render like the example in your second comment. The simplest answer is often the right one. This is a 4G next to a 3G, and the 3G looks diminutive and dated.

I'm just going by what I see. To me it looks like it's been photoshopped in.

I dunno, looks like the bottom air dam was PS'd on too. Only he knows. It's not a big deal. I think it's a PS job. If I'm wrong oh well. Just my opinion.

I use PS daily and with the current tech in these programs it’s totally doable to do a clean job like the above photo however I feel like it’s legit.

In the UK I worked for a company that imported Smart Cars from Belgium before Mercedes claimed them as their own. I was driving the only convertible Smart car in the UK and as part of the PDI was doing a test drive and I took it to a friends house and took him out for a cheeky spin, the above is possible.

100% agree it’s doable. My point is the effort to do it only to flex to a group of truck nerds is very unlikely.

The culprit here is the saturation and filter. If this was a SOOC image nobody would be questioning it.

Here’s a slightly less offensive edit. But the image is hardly recoverable. Even the tree-sky interface is blown out at this point.

Yeah you can also get those blue artifacts in shadow areas if you pull the highlights back and boost blue saturation.

    I’d say legit.

Could be an image of the blue sport from the reveal. With the color lifted from a dirty silver 3g that was already parked in the drive way. Then the blueberry Taco was photoshoped next to the photoshopped 4g. Touched up edited and distoreted. Or both images of the trucks were photoshoped on to the drive way image. Blue 4g image is lifted from a youtube video.

An interesting front end side by side, both Sports. Most here will at least agree that one looks better than the other. Or does the other look better than the one? Hmmm.

That previous picture must be altered as you can see in this one they both look the same size.

3rd gen looks bigger, but there is also a lot of lens distortion going on. I remember one of the initial HI reviewers measured and I believe the 4th gen hood, roof and bed sides are taller than 3rd gen.

Grill is better on the 4G, fenders/flares better on the 3G. Be nice if they went back to a regular bumper that is separate from the rest of the body panels…suggested it, but I was told to go pound sand. :D

Oh is that influencer having a heart attack or getting ready to hurl?

If I had to guess, I’d say the Gen3 might be angled closer to the cameraman here. Length & body width were intentionally kept the same, track widened necessitating the larger over fenders. Bed taller, rear window looks stubbier. The scoop on the new one looks like it might be easier to see over.

The aftermarket front bumper designers are going to earn their pay with the new Gen. That is a lot of stuff going on up there.
