I just discovered the same issue on my 2016 Tacoma 3.5L v-6, or rather it was discovered by my Toyota mechanic, at the Toyota Dealership during the last service. They gave me a repair estimation of at least 3 days labor, and TWO THOUSAND BUCKS. I'm so pissed off right now, feels like my head is going to explode. Would anyone like to buy my truck?

Have a 2016 with the same issue. Dealer quoted me $4K to fix it. Just decided to keep an eye on my oil level and drive the truck into the ground. 2 clutch replacements, on my 3rd windshield and now this. Can't wait to get my wife's car paid off and sell this thing.

I don’t think you can really count the windshields and at least one of the clutches or both depending on miles . Clutch is a wear item and windshield can break on a brand new car 1 day old . That’s what they make full glass coverage for

The 1st was when the truck was still under warranty and the 2nd was replaced under a TSB I believe. The lubricant they use just doesn't hold up and the clutch begins to creak and so the dealer just replaced the entire thing both times.

Normally I would agree with you on the windshields but I've seen some posts on here talking about the angle playing a part in chips happening more frequently it seems.

And when you live in a state where they don't require insurance companies to offer glass replacement, it gets to be a PITA. Also have to do an inspection every 2 years so it's either replace the windshield or fail the inspection.

Again, combine all these issues and it makes me ready to move on to something different.

I understand but remember that saying the grass isn’t always greener . Some stuff today is absolute nightmare . I have several guys in my place with some other brands that would easily trade for those kind of problems. Too bad on the glass coverage . That would be a big help . The clutch thing is really strange. I feel like you may have got soaked. It sounds like the pedal is the issue at the pivot point not the clutch .

I just had mine done at just shy of 100k miles on my 2018. Fortunately covered under the extended warranty. Everyone’s saying the engine has to be pulled. It doesn’t. They disassemble the suspension and go in through the passenger side wheel well. All in, the dealer had my truck 25 hours total. 12 of that, they were closed.

Am working on doing the RTV fix. Cleaned and dried area with engine cleaner and brake cleaner. Area is clean and then after 1/2 hour or so there is another small seap that appears. This has happened multiple times. This isn't a high pressure area and the engine hasn't run for 15 hrs. Why is this happening? Am I overthinking this? Just get it dry and RTV it and hope for the best?
