I haven't taken my Tacoma up there, but my 90 Yota spends a lot of time there still with my nephew.

I was at Hoodview Campground over the weekend and there were about 7-8 planes getting water from Timothy Lake to fight this fire.

Honestly when we left this morning it seemed like the major smoke plume had gone down and it wasn’t as smokey.

fire ban also starts in Mt. Hood tomorrow.

The Cedar Tree that you could drive under at Browns Camp was moved. Seems random for a logging company to revisit the trail, especially since new seedlings haven’t been planted. But also too large of a tree for some 4x4 vehicles to push it.

Anyone know how this tree might have been moved?

I wonder if maybe the roots were getting too rotten to support it and they moved it before it fell on someone.

Last report was 20 acres but zero contain… eye witnesses say the smoke has pretty much dissipated though…. Had one helicopter and one plane putting water on it out of north fork so real quick turn around times on the water

In Tillamook state forest there are some designated dispersed sites that have a metal fire ring and allow camp fires during fire restrictions. Does anyone know of any designated dispersed sites near Bend? (Not campgrounds)

TSF is also MUCH wetter than Bend. Regardless of fire rings no one should be having fires on the east side right now. It's currently a tinder box and this is the time of year where the huge fires typically get started. Don't be that guy.

We own one of these for peak summer season camping. So many campfire bans these days. So many fires in my favorite places..

    https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B01MA0MSZM?context=search

Easy addition if you are already propane enabled for grills or water heaters or whatever. Also, you can feel the smug radiating from it as you have a 'campfire' atmosphere during a burn ban.
