Motive Power Bleeder and the BA10 adapter

I've searched, and I've read on this forum. I can't find anyone who has definitively used the Motive Power Bleeder and the BA10 adapter successfully on a 3rd Gen OR brake system, to flush the brake fluid.

Has anyone actually and successfully power bled their brake system using these items? I know the 3rd Gen has ABS, and I'll probably not be able to do a full bleed of those related components without Techstream. But will I be able to still successfully flush and renew most of the brake fluid elsewhere in the circuit using this process? For the 3rd Gen?

I'm going on 6 years now (though low milage) and I want to renew my brake fluid. It's looking a little more yellowish than fresh fluid.

Ive yet to bleed mine but I don't think you need anything but a small hose for the bleeder nipple. Since the booster on your OR isn't vacuum you can turn the ignition on, hold the brake down and it will power bleed itself.

 

I used the Motive system on two Saabs with antilock brakes. No issues at all during 4 wheel brake job. Great system. Will use it on my Taco when the time
comes. I just used the Motive system and not the power probe.

 

What PSI would you guys suggest for the Motive Power bleeder? I don't want to damage the master cylinder reservoir. Max of 15 psi? Will 10 psi be sufficient enough?

 

Yes, I've read about this particular procedure AFTER I bought the Motive/BA10 adapter. Sort of tempted now to return both items back to Amazon. Not sure yet

 

I picked up this setup when I upgraded my calipers to a Stoptech bbk, it worked great and was worth it in end spending the money to have the tools for next time .

 

I'd keep them, I think even though it will power bleed it's still a two person job, I wouldn't want let up on the pedal with the bleeder valve open. I guess you could also use a block of wood to hold the pedal down.

The motive is great, I've had one for over a decade and have had to replace the tubing once during that time. I've used it for regular brake flushes as well as brake MC and clutch master/slave replacements on various cars.
