Looking forward to seeing it. I’d like to know how you go about connecting it

I'm interested to know where you got these thumbscrew bolts (and matching T-nuts) for the side rails: I have some bolts I use to hold wrap-it straps but I need a wrench to move them around. And then I'd hope they work with the Hondo Garage T-nuts (you can insert them anywhere on the rail).

Thank You all for the positive comments. My goal was to get as much extra storage space as possible with out using up much space to do it. And everything could easily be removed if needed.

MrMobile- My friend also 3D printed those knobs up. I'm not sure if he got the design for those off Thingiverse.com, or they were his own design. The bolts were just 3/8-16 hex heads, and the t-nuts were from Amazon- Just did a search for Tacoma rail nuts.

    Looks great!

If those AC rings covers are from Amazon keep a close eye on them. The ones I had quickly went from black to this rich copper color after sun exposure.

It’s nice to see them sitting below the top of the bed sides.

Took it in for its final free oil change and inspection at 3700 miles. Noticed this SR5 trail, it looks nice… idk about $46k for a sr5 nice.

Oh there will be some mods all right
To call it just an SR5 is selling it a bit short. It does come with better suspension and a locker as well as the TRD Pro skid plate and bed storage.

I worked for Toyota during that time They had to bring in a special guy to do that repair specifically. Also during the head gasket recall on the 4runner V6. Sucks his truck didn’t qualify. I use wool wax.

It has the same Hitachi shocks that my SR has. There’s no locker unless it’s automatic, doesn’t seem worth 46,400 imo seems like a $34k truck with a $14k tattoos and piercings markup.don’t get me wrong, it’s still badass.

I believe the 96/97s had a buyback option... So someone may have cashed in. From what I understand the frame replacement happened on some years and other years they did a flat buyback option where they paid you for your issues and you got to keep the truck

Ah, my bad. I assumed it being lifted meant better suspension. Pretty sure the trail edition is automatic only and they definitely come with the locker

I have religiously used PIAA Silicone wiper blades for over a decade now. Love the hell out of them. Best damn wiper blades I've ever had. Found out a few months ago when I got my Tacoma that they suck on it though. They skip. So... I need to buy OEM wiper blades now (After I threw mine away to "Upgrade" to my PIAA ones.

How do you like the 5.29's so far? I'll be getting mine installed in a few days. I just switched to a 3rd gen, from a 2nd gen reg cab. I had 5.29's in the reg cab and they were nice on the street and the highway, but amazing off road! That added gearing gave so much more low speed control in 4lo. I knew when I got this truck I was going to gear it.

Never heard about that part then again I was young, those early year extra cabs had some interesting issues. Some cabs and beds were painted in different countries so sometimes the paint didn’t match. Those manual Trd sports were faaast. The 3rd gen is so much beefier.

    $500 for window tint?!?!?!
    That seems extremely steep.
