    Sure is my truck. :D

I can assure there’s plenty of room for winch back there.

They are 5125 but only 10" travel typically utilized on a ford truck of sorts. I ran them with an eyelet adapter with the stock shock location. Will be replacing them with a 12" Bilstein soon.

Not today, but a couple days ago... Replaced the steering rack, lower steering shaft and power steering hoses, rebooted the drivers side CV joints, installed new rotor dust shields and new stabilizer bar links. Worst part was dealing with rusted bolts; one stabilizer bracket bolt snapped off and both links had to get cut off on the stabilizer end (Sawzall to the rescue!). One hose connection had to get cut off the steering rack. Most of the other bolts had been removed in the past years when replacing hubs and inner tie rods. Steering is so much improved from before; no more clicking and clunking and the excessive freeplay is gone. The U-joint on the old lower steering shaft was totally shot. Now to get an alignment. I've noticed a weird thing when I turn a corner and it feels like there isn't any power steering; has happened a few times, hopefully is just due to needing an alignment. Other causes? Bleeding went fine and the level has remained at the full line.IMG_20230704_153140650_HDR.jpg

What rack did you go with?
This is on my “my truck is over 200k mile” maintenance list. Steering rack has has a slow leak in it for some time now

It’s insane how much the steering racks are. I had a Toyota tech tell me that all the steering racks are refurbs

Used Vleds Max Pods with flush mount bezel. Drilled holes through the bottom of the mirror, ran the wires through the rubber grommet tube and then tapped the dome light circuit.

Yes, it's crazy. That price is the 'discounted' amount, list price is just over $1000. The net cost was almost $700 but then there's the tax and freight.

IDK about the refurb status, the one I got sure looked new. I didn't have to give them my old one so it's available if anyone wants it to refurbish, the inner tie rods were replaced a year or so ago (but with Duralast parts).

I am a fan of these little Pods. Just curious why you didn't use the universal puddle pods?

If I had to guess, cost + securing the lights. $80 for universal puddle pods and they secure using 3M trim tape vs $20 per max pod + $4 per flush mount kit ($48) and they secure in via tension. I mean, those are the reasons that stick out to me.

yeah, they used to cost $60 for the pair.

I get the mounting though, that's why I used these on a few other application. I liked the bracket mounting.

These reasons exactly, plus the universal pod has a larger diameter and space is pretty limited already in that area

Turned the front turn signals to DRLs and the side markers to blink in sequence with the turn signals. I had all the needed material on hand so the only thing I had to buy were the two LED turn signal bulbs and resistors. The DRLs are only on when the side markers are turned on, but the side markers will blink anytime the turn signals are activated. A good Sunday project while the Tour De France was on in the background.
