Does anyone know how to bring up the reverse camera other than to actually be in reverse?

If you had the panoramic view on your taco then you'd have it.

The factory radio can have the anytime camera switch installed I believe.

My truck does not have panoramic view. I added the "Anytime Backup Camera" harness, and put the switch where the "View" switch would normally be. This mod has been one of the most useful (and most reasonably priced) that I have done.

I am wanting to do this. Waiting to buy the anytime backup harness. Just don't want their switch (it has front and rear on their switch). Where did you get this switch and does it have back lighting?

Yes, that's the one. Note that the version for model years 2020 and up is slightly more expensive ($43 instead of $39).

I used a switch from Air on Board ($15 plus postage). It has backlighting in Toyota blue (same color as the rest of the dash). To connect the lighting, I used a jumper harness from Kyle Morgan (member here). This was $20 postpaid. So all together, the project cost a little over $90.

otherwise, the camera really just needs a 6v signal to power up. many aftermarket 6v adapters on the market.
